Alpha King Lucas’s POV.
They were all in shock that I wasn’t going to pick Isabella. In truth, I just wanted to mourn the loss of my true mate. I mean it was like she had died and there was no burial ceremony or I didn’t get to throw away her ashes or something as terrible as the humans invented. I needed closure and I haven’t felt like I had gotten it yet.
“We still have to get me to Elena.” I tell them. This time Beta Gabriel who had always backed me up scoffed and Isabella laughed bitterly.
“ Lucas, get it through your head, already. She doesn’t want anything to do with you. If she did, she would have talked to you somehow. You are just setting yourself up for more heartbreak.” She says as bitter as ever.
“ Lucas, I agree with her on this one. I think it’s time to let go.”Beta Ga
