I reread the letter again to make sure I wasn’t tripping.
‘ Better watch your back, Lucas.’
That’s all it said on a plain white paper sheet. I sniffed it but there was no scent either. Whoever did this was a professional. I process the message and my first thought is Elena. I gather my things and run to my car. I drove to her house and opened the gate myself so I wouldn’t stress her. Beta Ethan gave me the key to the place earlier. I parked my car at the car garage and went inside.
My plan was to get Elena and leave. I don’t care if she didn’t like the pack. It was at least safer for her there than here in the human city. I noticed Nacho’s car in the driveway. He didn’t tell me he was back from his journey. Anyways, those two are like female best friends. I w
