I couldn’t believe it. It had always been lurking in my mind but I refused to believe it. Elena wouldn’t. She couldn’t. We loved each other. There had to be another explanation for this. Maybe she was hypnotized or blackmailed into it. She wouldn’t reject me of her free will. She wouldn’t. I could feel the tears coming again.
“Everyone out! Get out Now!” I ordered. If I was going to cry nobody was going to see me cry. They all lowered their heads and left, each of them giving me a pitiful look. I hated sympathy.
