Chapter Thirty-Five

509 Words
Julia… I was in studio 1 with Sean and we were working on the lyrics of a song we were assigned to do. “So, is this good enough?” Julia… My brain was tangled with so many thoughts. I scratched my head in stress. “Hey. Are you okay? You seem a little off?” “Jared… why can’t you stop thinking about me?” My eyes widened as I stared at Julia right before my eyes. I shifted the chair away from the desk and closed my eyes rubbing finger together. “I’m crazy.” “Jared. Are you okay?” I hear Sean ask. “You are not crazy, Jared.” I clenched my teeth as she popped in front of me again. I shook my head and glided back to the desk squeezing my eyes really hard. When I opened them back, I was relieved when she was finally out for my sight. I was a little stunned when I felt Sean’s hand over my shoulder. “You’re acting really weird right now.” “Why won’t you just…” I turned and saw her looking directly at me. I gasped for air. “…admit that you like me, Jared?” “I DON’T LIKE YOU!” “Hey…” Sean said slightly shaken. “You’re starting to scare me. What’s wrong with you? Should I send you to the mental? It’s surprising that you’re not serious about work.” “HOW CAN I POSSIBLY FOCUS WHEN ALL I SEE IS HER?!” I suddenly burst. He looked at me terrified. I sighed and shook my head. “L-Let’s just… get this over with.”   By night, I was checking on everyone. I told them to do their responsibilities in their rooms and so they did. They never disobeyed me anyway. I passed by a door that wasn’t closed. I stepped closer to it and realized it was Julia’s room. I peeked inside and there she was, knocked down on her desk. I opened the door and stepped inside. I looked at the papers I left her and she haven’t even finished a half of it. I rolled my eyes in anger and caught sight of another brown envelope. I opened the envelope and saw an x-ray. Maybe hers, maybe not. There were papers and my jaws dropped. . . Julia Burton. Medical Certificate. Chronic bronchitis? I frowned. This wasn’t real. It’s too cliché. I shook my head and placed them – papers – back inside the envelope. I noticed the small notebook that was near her sleeping self. I opened the notebook and saw… Schedule: Toy Empire 4:00 – 6:00 pm My brows creased. Toy Empire? It’s where I meet— Don’t tell me. . .. Julia was the mascot.
