He leaned down, still moving to the beat. "What's up, Trisha?" "I can't find Beatrice," I said, trying to keep my voice steady even though my heart was racing. He straightened up, his smile fading slightly. "Beatrice left some minutes ago." My eyes darted to the door, panic rising in my chest. Without thinking, I bolted out of the room, running toward the foyer. The space was empty, and I pushed open the front door, looking toward the gates.
