Diana's pack handled the pressure well. They'd survived Victor's cruelty. This was different but familiar. Another fight for survival.
"Your wolves are brave," I told Diana as we surveyed the defences.
"They're motivated. You gave us a second chance at a good life. We won't let some mysterious attackers take that away." She pointed to the main compound. "I've moved our vulnerable wolves to the reinforced bunker. Pups, elderly, and injured. They'll be safe there no matter what happens above ground."
