55 The Wicked Peruvian Lilly

The beast tamer just stared at the unknown guests and then looked at his teammates. In an ideal world, all humans would help with each other, but they knew that that was far from the truth. They had to be cautious regardless of who they were faced up against, be it a god or a fellow human player. “Cat got your tongue?” The man continued probing them, and was slowly taking steps to were their little group were. Haya and Kedrick already had their hands on their weapons and were unready to unsheathe it anytime. Ygritte was taking a few strategic steps back, just in case she’d need to use her long-range fighting style. Thaleos shook his head and started, “Astral projection.” After speaking those words, the beast tamer had no plans of continuing them. “So you’re saying that the gods have been so kind to you to show you all these things through the astral plane?” One of the alchemists asked, with a bite in his words. The beast tamer just slowly nodded his head once, making the other group scratch their heads in confusion. What was so special about the bearded man that had a protective-looking team? Was it truly just privilege. Thaleos knew what they were thinking and he knew that it was true. Without the privilege of James’ journal, who’s to say that they would’ve even survived through the first apocalypse. As much as he wanted to just share all the notes inside James’ journal, he knew what the consequences might be. He didn’t have a savior complex or anything, but he couldn’t risk the journal falling into the wrong hands. If anyone gets wind of this knowledge, especially corrupt and dubious people, it might be the end of humanity as they know it. Before they could probe the little group for more answers, they started hearing growling sounds surrounding them throughout the forest. The sound made everyone extra alert as they all assumed defensive or offensive positions and slowly took out their weapons. As one of the other group’s alchemists took a step back, he accidentally stepped on a branch triggering a resounding cackling sounds in the forest. Within seconds, one large black wolf appeared from the humungous bushes. The large beast was growling at them with all its might and was basically ready to pounce at them in case they made another move. It looked like it was hungry since it was drooling while obsessively staring at them. “Your observations?” Thaleos asked while assessing how they could strategically kill the black wolf. Although there were nine of them in the vicinity, he knew that the beasts in the second stage weren’t a joke. They were at least ten times stronger than the monsters found on earth, even the ones in the novice adaptation stage were still considered as weaker creatures compared to the ones in this stage. James was pretty clear about this as he would constantly describe how the beasts seemed to have the capabilities to learn attacks and adjust to them. “Looks like it’s a level 10 Animalia Kingdom beast.” Haya muttered under his breath. Their group of four agreed that if they ever come across such high-level beasts, they needed to attack fast. They needed to destroy it before it learned all their attacks and skills. The tan man took out his axe and started activating his Bloody Daggers skill. Kedrick proceeded to go in a safe distance and started his Healing Sphere spell. He needed to make sure that everyone could recover fast from any injuries inflicted by the beast. Ygritte positioned herself a bit farther from the fight as well and took out her bow and arrows. While everyone was surrounding the large beast, the young druid tried using her Ancient Incantation Skill. At first, it looked like it was effective as the best stumbled a bit, but within a split second, it just shook its head and proceeded to quickly swipe at one of the alchemists. This attack prompted the other group’s team members to go all out and blindly attacked the beast. Thaleos knew that these beasts weren’t just simple creatures that attacked anything at will. It could create strategies and probably attacked the alchemist with a plan in mind. Thaleos took out his two wolf-eagles and ordered them to pick up the whole group off the ground. He knew that they would probably die if they approached the large wolf beast. His suspicion proved him right, as he saw the wolf’s surrounding blazing in blue fire. When it saw that the humans got away from its surprise attack, it started growling at Thaleos. The beast tamer ordered his tamed beasts to bring the other group near him. Once they landed on his side, he quickly whispered to them, “Be careful with how you move forward. You wouldn’t want to die in the paws of that creature. It’s merciless with its prey.” This triggered the other team to be more cautious with their move and proceeded to strategize within themselves. The bearded man activated his Painful Torture skill and positioned himself a couple of feet away from the beast. As the large wolf was ready to devour the beast tamer, Ygritte shot its left eye with one of her poisoned arrows. Feeling the burning sensation of the poison, the beast yelped and cringed a little bit. This gave Haya the time to launch his Bloody Daggers attack on the wolf and cutting parts of it around. At the same time, the beast tamer Painful Torture skill was already ready. He quickly attacked the black wolf with his black katana triggering the skill. Soon enough it was yelping in pain as the cutting sensation from the berserker’s bloody daggers were amplified by a hundred times. Ygritte decided to just continuously draw more and more arrows until the whole wolf was covered in poisoned arrows. Thaleos tried looking for its mana center and spotted it inside one of its hindlegs. The target was a bit narrow, but he knew that he could attack it properly as long as he could find a way to make it still. The gnarling raven-colored wolf suddenly clamped its paws on the ground and started howling as loud as it could. At first they couldn’t understand what it was doing, but the loudness of the howling caused vibrating noises that acted like a strong earthquake. Everyone fell on their behinds as they couldn’t properly stand up. After howling as much as it could, it suddenly started wagging its tail as hard as it could until it created mini tornadoes that further disrupted their movement. The beast tamer could see why the Animalia Kingdom creatures were strong, they had the capability to bend nature according to their will. Their connection to nature’s elements made sure that they had the advantage of the environment. “What the hell are we going to do?” Kedrick asked from afar, and this snapped Thaleos into thinking for a solution. Meanwhile, the other team tried their best to get near the wolf and seeing their team composition gave him an idea. He called forth his wolf-eagles and commanded them to take the three alchemists with them. After shouting their protests, the three alchemists were dropped in front of the beast tamer. He told them his plan and when they saw them being hesitant, he tried explaining it further, “You just need to take out all your sleeping potions and ask your assassin teammates to throw it exactly at the tornadoes when its approaching the black wolf.” The idea came to him when he noticed that the shaking and wind waves have certain patterns to them. As connected they were to nature, there were still limitation as to how much they can control it. Once the three alchemists heard his explanation, they gain a new form of bravery and proceeded to tell his plan to their teammates. Seeing that the other group agreed with the strategy, he shouted at his own team about their role in the plan. By this point, the wolf was getting bored and was ready to strike again with new tornadoes. As soon as it started flapping its tail, mini tornadoes started forming around it causing the trees and field to sway around. Thaleos immediately gave his go signal, triggering the assassins to throw four or five sleeping potions at the large wolf, which created puffs of colorful smoke surrounding it. They could see the wolf’s eyelids gradually dropping, and then Ygritte started her Incantation Spell, which basically knocked out the animalia creature. Haya went ahead to where the wolf was and unleashed his bloodlust, while Thaleos activated his Heart of Tyranny skill and proceeded to hack and s***h the wolf away, including its hindleg. The beast tamer’s skill helped lessen the wolf’s resistance, making it easier to ebb away at its mana and health points. Soon after, everyone joined in to make sure that the sleeping wolf stayed asleep forever. Before it could even open its eyes, it was killed by Thaleos team and the other group that were questioning them earlier. “Well, the ending was a bit anticlimactic, but at least we’re alive.” Haya started as he sat near the wolf to rest for a bit. Everyone else was looting anything they can from the animalia creature. “That was f*****g awesome. I mean, the dying part, not so much, but f**k yeah.” One of the warriors from the other group shouted. This made the beast tamer’s team smile in return. “But why was the beast here?” Ygritte asked in curiosity as she took out the wolf’s golden eyes. Thaleos wore his Insight Glasses and looked around the location, he spotted the flower hidden deep in the fields exuding gold specks. While staring at the magnificent flora, he muttered under his breath, “It’s because the The Wicked Peruvian Lilly is here.”
