Chapter 2: Amelia's POV I felt my body being dragged through a hard marble floor, my head spinning with ache. As I slipped in and out of consciousness. “I didn't want it this way. Not her dead anyways.” Lucien said. “Should we dump her here?” I heard Amber's voice, her grip on my body trembling. “We can't, people can see her here. And it's cold out here too.” Lucien said, balancing my weight on his hands. “We don't want people to find her body and ask questions, do we?” so we have to dispose of her properly.” Lucien said in a low whisper. “Do you mind getting the shovels by the garage for me?” “Okay, I'm coming.” Amber replied, lowering her body to let go of my legs. “But Lucien,” she turned back when she'd walked a distance. “I'm scared to go alone!” “Shhhush, Amelia, You'll cause a trance. Would you rather stay with her dead body in this dark forest?” Lucien asked. “Ohhhm!” Amber yelled in a low voice, stamping her feet against the twigs. “Well I don't think so. So hurry before we get caught. Lucien said, after some moments of Amelia standing hands akimbo. I heard the loud noise of breaking branches as she made her way away from where we were. “Amber? Lucien called out and through the blur I saw her turn. “Be fast, make sure you walk slowly and very carefully.” the image I could make out from the blur, which I was certain was Amber nodded, followed by retreating footsteps. Till I heard them no more. “I can still feel your breathing, Amelia. I know you're still alive.” Lucien said, when Amber was no longer in sight. But I couldn't answer because my body refused to move, probably because of the weight of the pain I felt. “Bear with me, dear. I know you didn't expect this and you don't want to die.” Lucien said, tucking a strand of hair by my ear. “Ohh, and don't turn into a vengeful Wolf Ghost.” “Too bad you're wolfless.” He said with a wild grin. “I would have let you live, but sooner than later you'll tell your father the truth. And I don't wish for that. Not when I'm standing right in front of my goal.” “Do you know that with you dead and out of the way, Xavier won't be able to break his Thorn curse?” He asked, not expecting an answer. “Only then can I be the Alpha of my pack. My greatest dream.” While Lucien said all these the only thing I could think of was how I would be paramount in breaking Alpha Xavier's curse. “I'm wolfless for crying out loud.” My mind echoed. As I thought further I remembered—-No one from my fathers pack has ever met Alpha Xavier though just a few from the Dark Crest pack. All we knew was that he was cursed and not to be seen among the both pack. Especially his origin pack, for fear of unleashing a deadly curse. And if he ended up being alpha without lifting the curse then the whole of the Dark Crest pack will be greatly doomed. “So you see how your death is a good cause to me.” Lucien said, patting my head and jolting me back to reality. Footsteps sounded in the distance. “Now be quiet and lay still. Be a good girl, we don't want Amber frightened.” Lucien said, standing up to move towards the approaching footsteps. “Lucien, quick come I'm scared.” Amber whimpered, making a small cry. “I'm right here Amber, you could use more courage.” Lucien said, taking the shovels from her. “How come I never noticed this before? Their closeness. My fiance's actually in love with my cousin.” My heart bleeded more as I heard their voices. “Let's start digging before the pack strollers or even rouges catch sight of us.” soon after I heard the metallic clanking of the shovels as the dug the floor. I was alive and my grave was being dug. Never had I imagined such a death. Yet, all my subconscious mind could do was notice and not alter. “This should do, she's not so tall.” Lucien said after about five minutes of tirelessly digging with Amber. Amber dropped her shovel, walked towards me and stumped on my right leg. “This is for taking my spotlight. Too bad, it's over for you.” Amber said with a grin, stepping forward to drag my hair. “Enough, Amber! That's Enough!” Lucien called out to her. “Come on, let's lift her into her new Paradise.” Lucien said, grabbing my legs while beckoning Amber to do the same. Amber hovered over my head subsequently getting hold of my hands. Before I could even comprehend what was happening, I felt my head hit against a hard rock. I winced as pain shot through my body. “Wait, Lucien.” “What?” Lucien asked without concern picking up the shovel from the floor. “Look,” Amber pointed towards me. “I think she just moved.” “You're not sure what you saw.” Lucien lied. “Didn't you check her pulse before we dragged her here? Didn't you kill her and confirm her dead?” “Please, forget that so we can cover her up in time.” Lucien said, his voice a growl. “Maybe you're right, I might be seeing things. Anyways it's my first time.” Amber said, picking up her shovel from the floor. “Amber?” Lucien called. “Yes.” “Do you wish she was alive? Like, do you want her back?’ Lucien asked in a cold voice. “She's my cousin sister and my bestfriend too. Though we've made many memories together, I'll surely miss her but it's best she stays dead.” Amber said with a shrug. These were the same people I'd sacrificed everything for. Yet the pain I felt on my head was nothing compared to the ache my heart felt. “Let's get this over with,” Lucien said, already packing soil with his shovel and Amber followed suit. And within seconds I could feel sand being poured on my body. I was being buried very much ALIVE! As I felt the soil pour down on my body, hitting my body with some throwing force a tear slid down my eyes.Everywhere was getting dark quickly and before I knew it, I barely saw the moonlight. After a while I was completely beneath the ground, buried some feet down, I couldn't move my legs as I felt my breath begin to finally seize. “Let's go, Amber.” I heard Lucien's voice for the last time. Soon I couldn't hear movement anywhere. With the little strength I could gather I made a wish to the moon goddess. “Please, amiable and most beautiful Moon goddess. I plead for a second chance to get back at these two who have made my life miserable. Who have cheated me in several ways.” “Please..!” I pleaded to the air or maybe the universe. “Please, Moon goddess, I know you're real. Help me get my revenge on these two.” “Who knows? maybe I'm just a wolfless girl making a stupid wish.” Then I closed my eyes in slumber, traveling to a word unknown.
