Miss Sissy was stony-faced. Ramsay gave a short sigh. “Then there’s Jake. There’s quite a few Jakes in town. Could he be our baker, Jake?” Miss Sissy was completely sullen. Ramsay flipped through the notebook. “Hugh. He’s got to be our former mayor, Huey, right? And one of the state representatives. Can’t be all that many Hueys around.” Miss Sissy didn’t offer an opinion on that one way or another. “And there’s a name on the outside of the notebook,” said Ramsay rather thoughtfully. He gave Miss Sissy a sideways look. “Vivian. Vivian Hastings.” “She’s dead!” snarled Miss Sissy. Beatrice and Ramsay stared at her. Ramsay said slowly, “Wait.
