Chapter 21It took some searching, but eventually Ken found Yuuki in one of the other houses. She sat on the floor with five kids, playing with wooden blocks. Nearby, a team of women—and a couple men—were busy knitting and mending clothes for the town. She looked up at her, beaming. “Hey there.”
Ken took a seat next to her and absently picked up a triangular-shaped block. “Having fun?”
She laughed. “We built many towers, with severe structural problems.”
It seemed the children were working on some kind of wall now. Perhaps a castle was the goal. Ken handed off the block to one of the kids. She kissed Yuuki lightly on the cheek.
Blushing, “Did you get your dad’s medicine?”
She gave a single nod. “Most of them.”
