VI - Señorita Snow

THIRD PERSON

 “Octavius.” He answered, which made Minay just nod; after a while, she taught and told him all the things he needs to do and know.

“Octavius, I'm Minay and because I'm older than you, call me 'Aling Minay'. I know that you can see those crops of sweet potatoes, you'll always carry those to the market, do you know where the market is?” She said and asked, Lexus just nodded his head, but the truth is, he doesn't know where it is.

“In that case, let's start working. Señorita Celes might see us doing nothing and then we'll get scolded, especially her daughter Snow, she's way too scary especially when it comes to working.” She stated to Lexus.

They walked to a part where there is a lot of crops, and then he saw people shovelling the land and other things that are assigned to them.

“Now they're a few of our co-workers, they organise the crops. There now, young man, that's the sweet potato, hurry and carry them to our place in the market.” She then told him, right away, Lexus carried a sack of sweet potatoes. It's way too heavy, especially for the fact that his powers are gone.

He carried the sack once again with all his strength and stopped in front of Minay.

“What are you waiting for, young man? Bring those sweet potatoes to the market. What time is it? Hurry!” She told him, and Lexus immediately got out, but he doesn't know what direction to take.

“Are you a new employee? I haven't seen you around, so I'm assuming that you're new.” A girl's voice said to him, he ignored the girl and continued walking.

The girl was wearing such wealthy clothing while her accessories shined when the sunlight hits them.

“Oh, you look so handsome.” She praised Lexus when she saw his face because of him blocking her front.

Lexus ignored her once again, then suddenly, the girl pulled his clothes which caused the sweet potatoes to crash on the ground.

“Damn it.” Lexus cursed, looks like he can't work this fast because of this annoying girl that suddenly emerged.

This girl isn't Songnara, and this is Snow, the daughter of the owner of the hacienda.

“Wow, you're so hot when you curse too, let those sweet potatoes be! If you marry me, then you won't need to work anymore.” She said as she moved her body closer to Lexus', then tightly held his hand, looking like she doesn't want to let go.

“Ah, Señorita Snow, you see that this man is working for you, why don't you leave him be so he could work properly? It looks like he doesn't like these movements of yours as a lady.” A calm voice said behind Lexus; it's Songnara, she brought pancit and puto for Lexus' lunch.

Immediately, Snow let Lexus' hand go and angrily rolled her eyes at Songnara for she stopped what she wanted to do.

Songnara then sighed and handed Lexus the food that she brought for him. Her appetite to eat with Lexus was gone and was about to leave when he spoke.

“Songnara, can you show me where's the market?” Lexus asked, which made Songnara laugh because of his accent. Lexus stared at her and a small smile formed on his lips which Songnara overlooked, at that moment, he didn't snap at Songnara like he always does, which made her happy.

“Alright, your highness. I'll take you to the market.” She said as she annoyed him with Lexus' accent.

Lexus didn't speak again once they started walking, but he was happy that Songnara kept talking to him. And as for Snow, she's inside the hacienda, filled with anger because of Songnara interrupting her plans.

"Sure, I'll go with you to the market," she said, annoying Lexus. They started walking while Songnara kept talking to Lexus.

“Do you know? I think Señorita Snow likes you, all because you look so handsome, you look like a foreigner. Maybe you are a half foreigner because it'll be impossible for such a handsome face when you're a full-blooded Filipino.” Songnara teased Lexus, straightaway, Lexus adverts his eyes whenever she would start talking.

“Hey, speak up. Don't you want to talk to me?” Songnara added as she continuously poked Lexus' side, which made him tap her gently.

Songnara shut her mouth for she knew that Lexus would not talk until they stopped on a place filled with lots of people. Scattered, people go to various shops and stalls to buy things, and as for Lexus, he was still carrying the sack of sweet potatoes on his back which he should now deliver.

It's a good thing that Lexus isn't in his vampire form or else, all of these people would have been lying on the ground, lifeless and remarkably bloodless.

He followed Songnara with no emotion and gently put down the sack, various squeals started to be heard, which made his ears hurt, and him becoming pissed.

“You look so handsome, do you want me to be in your future?” The girls quickly asked the reason why Songnara grimaced.

The girls here should act modest, but once they see a handsome guy, they would nearly give themselves for free, almost running out of breath because of too much romantic excitement.

“This isn't Señorita Snow's stall, and we should go even further. Come on!” Songnara said to him, Lexus once again carried the sack of sweet potatoes as Songnara held on his other hand and pulled him away from those girls.

“Too bad, this handsome young man already has a girlfriend.

“Some people are already married their heart yet still got stolen, how much more if it's only his girlfriend.”

“The foreigner would someday get tired and bored with her, plus we're more pretty than her.”

Songnara then stopped once she heard the people are talking about them; she only wants the girls to stop talking about Lexus.

Why is she so protective of him anyway? Plus she isn't even his girlfriend and they only just met.

She let go of Lexus' hand and let him follow her instead, Lexus stayed quiet even though the sack was just too heavy for him as he followed Songnara, Once they reached Señorita Snow's stall, he immediately put down the sweet potatoes that he had been carrying for quite a while now, his back already hurts because of it.
