Episode 2:A Day of Ni-ki's Death

Setting:The playground, Korea. It’s a sunny afternoon, the air filled with the sounds of children playing.
- The friends are at the playground, enjoying the sunshine. Ni-ki is leading a game of tag, his laughter echoing through the air. He’s a whirlwind of energy, darting between swings and slides.
- Ni-ki: (Shouting) I’m going to get you, Heeseung! You’re it!
- Heeseung pretends to run, his laughter mixing with Ni-ki’s. He looks over at the others, enjoying the playful chaos.
- Jake: (To Sunghoon) He’s so fast! You’d think he’d never run out of energy.
- Sunghoon: (Smiling) It’s like he has a bottomless well of energy. He could play all day long.
- Jungwon: (To Sunoo) He’s really gotten good at tag. He’s always one step ahead!
- Sunoo nods, a thoughtful expression on his face. He’s watching Ni-ki, his heart full of warmth.
- Sunoo: Yeah, he’s like a little ninja!
- Suddenly, Ni-ki bursts into a run. He's laughing, chasing after Heeseung. He's so focused on the game that he doesn't notice the red light at the pedestrian crossing.
- Jay: Ni-ki, wait! The light’s red!
- But Ni-ki’s already crossing the street, his laughter still ringing out. He’s almost halfway across when a car comes speeding around the corner. The driver is distracted, looking down at his phone. The car’s horn blasts a warning, but it’s too late.
- The friends watch in horror as the car slams into Ni-ki. He’s thrown into the air, landing on the pavement with a sickening thud.
- The laughter stops abruptly. The playground falls silent.
- Heeseung: (Gasps) Ni-ki!
- The friends are frozen in shock, their eyes wide with disbelief and terror.
- Jake: (Screaming) Ni-ki!
- Heeseung is the first to react. He sprints towards Ni-ki, his heart pounding in his chest. The others follow, their bodies trembling with fear.
- Jungwon: (Stuttering) Ni-ki! Ni-ki, can you hear me?
- Heeseung reaches Ni-ki, his hands trembling as he cradles him in his arms. Ni-ki’s eyes are closed, his breathing shallow and labored.
- Heeseung: (Voice cracking) Ni-ki, please stay with me!
- The sound of sirens fills the air, cutting through the stunned silence.
- Sunoo: (Sobbing) Ni-ki, please don’t leave us!
- Jay, his face pale and his fists clenched, stares at the driver, who is now frantically calling for help.
- Jay: (Voice shaking with anger) You i***t! You could have killed him!
- The driver, shaken and remorseful, just stares at the scene, unable to speak.
- Sunghoon: (Whispering) Ni-ki, stay with us. Please.
- The ambulance arrives, paramedics rushing to Ni-ki’s side. The friends stand huddled together, watching helplessly, their faces etched with a mixture of shock, fear, and a sense of impending doom.
- Jungwon: (Voice a mere whisper) Ni-ki, please don’t leave us…
- The paramedics lift Ni-ki onto a stretcher, his body limp and still. The friends watch as the ambulance speeds away, its siren a haunting reminder of their worst nightmare.
- The playground, once a haven of laughter and carefree joy, is now silent, the air heavy with the weight of tragedy. The friends stand there, their bodies numb with shock, their hearts filled with a gnawing emptiness. They know, deep down, that their world has been irrevocably changed.
I’ll leave it at that point, with a sense of uncertainty and dread hanging in the air. We can move on to the hospital scene in the next episode, where the friends will be forced to confront the harsh reality of Ni-ki’s condition.
