Day of Changes
Rachel was drifting in semi-sleep. Despite Alex’ attempt to be silent she heard the back door when it opened. Love flooded through her, along with gratitude and rue.
Things she shouldn’t have done and were impossible to undo…these tore at her insides still. They always would, to one degree or another. Regret would be a part of her forever. Yet so would those other emotions. And they would make forging ahead acceptable regardless.
That, in a nutshell, was what she had to convince Alex of too. And finally she had the insight to accomplish this complementary redemption.
