Chapter Thirty-Nine Day of Changes Rachel was drifting in semi-sleep. Despite Alex’ attempt to be silent she heard the back door when it opened. Love flooded through her, along with gratitude and rue. Things she shouldn’t have done and were impossible to undo…these tore at her insides still. They always would, to one degree or another.
