No Longer Pups

Yoongi's face lit up as he spied Jimin descending down the stairs. He clammered to his feet, nearly tripping over them as he got up. He ran towards a still rather sleepy looking Jimin.   "Chim Chim!" he exclaimed as he threw his arms around the waist of the small boy. Despite Yoongi being two years younger than 12 year old Jimin, they were the same height since Yoongi was alpha, and Jimin was omega. He squeezed Jimin a little tighter. "You're awake! Uncle Yixing said you were sick and you needed to rest for a couple of days. Are you feeling better?   Jimin carefully wrapped his arms around Yoongi and pat the young boys shoulder. "I'm better now. Thank you."   Yoongi pulled back and gave Jimin a grin. "I was so bored without you!"   At this, Jimin chuckled slightly. "There's more than just me you can play with you know?"   "I know, but none of them are as fun to hang out with as you are! Are you feeling okay enough to go outside?"   Jimin nodded. "I am. Come on. Let's go play, Oongi."   Jimin was just two years old when his Uncle Baekhyun had Yoongi, so the childhood nickname of 'Oongi' often stuck. Despite not being actually related, the pack they lived in was very family oriented. Jimin had been interested in the small pup since Yoongi was born, and it's been that way ever since. Jimin always wanted to be by Yoongi's side.   Yoongi's younger brother, Jihoon, however, was never quite the biggest fan of Jimin. Jihoon thought he was loud and always got too close to his older brother, so he would try to shoo Jimin away from Yoongi when none of their parents were looking. When Yoongi got older, he would eventually just walk over to where Jimin had been shooed away to, and sit down and continue playing, or napping, with him there.   One afternoon, when the boys were younger, Yoongi and Jimin were napping under the shade of the large willow tree in the yard, enjoying the warm late spring air. Yoongi was laying on his back, and Jimin was curled up with his head on the younger alphas chest as they dozed quietly. Jihoon glared from afar. He didn't like Jimin. Not one bit. So he took the role of possessive younger brother and marched over to the sleeping kids under the tree.   Jihoon shoved Jimin harshly off of Yoongi's chest, and grabbed him by the arm to drag him away. "Stop!" Yoongi wailed as Jihoon continued to drag a whimpering Jimin by the hair. "Jihoonie stop! you're hurting him. STOP!" Yoongi screamed as loud as he could.   Startled by his quiet older brother's outburst, Jihoon stopped dead in his tracks and dropped Jimin to the ground. Yoongi ran over and gathered the sobbing Jimin into his arms to comfort him. He carefully rubbed Jimin's back.   "Just leave him alone, Yoongi hyung. He's nothing but a cry baby anyways." Jihoon spat out.   Yoongi stood up to face his brother. "Stop being mean to Jimin! He does nothing wrong and you're so...so MEAN TO HIM FOR NO REASON. I WISH JIMIN WERE MY BROTHER INSTEAD OF YOU." Yoongi was nearly in tears as he screamed at Jihoon.   Jihoon felt his heart shatter. He loved Yoongi with all his heart. He was his older brother after all, and he'd do anything for him. It upset him beyond belief to hear that Yoongi wished Jimin were his brother instead. Jihoon just stood there silent for a few moments. He felt tears prick at the corners of his eyes. "I'm sorry, Yoongi hyung." he said quietly before he walked back in to the house.   Yoongi grabbed Jimin's hand and stood him up, gently brushing the dirt and grass off of him. He wiped the remaining tears from Jimin's cheeks with the hem of his shirt. "I'm sorry he's so mean to you. But don't worry, because I love you! and I'll NEVER be mean to you." He pulled Jimin in to a hug and led them back to their shady spot under the tree as Jihoon looked onward from the window inside.   The boys had grown up in to respectable young adults. Yoongi had filled out nicely by the time he was 18. He remained a bit short, but he was still strong and dominant. Jimin was just as petite as Yoongi, making a beautiful omega. They had stuck together through out childhood, and through the awkward early teen years. It wasn't until their later teenage years when they started to feel maybe something a little different towards one another. Of course, neither of them admitted to those feelings, but most nights, Jimin would wiggle his way in to Yoongi's bed to lay quietly in his arms.   Yoongi made him feel safe, made him feel protected. Ever since he stood up to Jihoon for him, Yoongi has always made him feel that way. He clung to Yoongi's mid section tighter as he heard the younger tell him he looked exceptionally beautiful when the full moonlight was shining down on him. He burried his face deeper into Yoongi's chest, inhaling his scent, and also hiding his blush. Yoongi's quiet deep chuckle vibrated through his chest, and he just resumed running his fingers through Jimin's hair to help him fall asleep.   Jimin couldn't help but wonder what it would be like getting to spend every night with Yoongi like that. And Yoongi couldn't help but to think how much he'd love to make Jimin his forever. But neither of them said a word, and they just laid there until sleep overcame their bodies.   "Hey, Jimin, can you go grab that one tshirt of mine from your room?" Yoongi asked as he rummaged bare chested through his drawer.   Jimin sat up from his spot on Yoongi's bed. "That grey one?"   "Yeah."   "But you have like, four other grey ones. I like that one the best, so I keep it. I think it looks better on me." Jimin flashed a smirk to the scowling Yoongi that was looking over his shoulder at him.   "Okay maybe it does look better on you, but it happens to be my favorite too, so go bring it to me." Yoongi went back to rustling through his drawers.   "If it's your favorite, then why did you let me borrow it?" Jimin asked as he neared the door.   Yoongi stilled. "Because you're my favorite." He mumbled quietly, almost too quietly that if Jimin hadn't been a wolf, he wouldn't have heard him.   "What was that, Yoong? I didn't quite hear you." Jimin teased.   "I said go get my shirt Jimin!" Yoongi spun around and tossed a balled up shirt at Jimin's head who dodged it with a giggle before dissapearing out of the room and in to his own.   Jimin was digging in his drawer when he heard his door creak open. He turned around to see Jihoon closing and locking his bedroom door.   "Oh, hey Jihoon. What's up?" Jimin asked, returning to the drawers of clothes.   "I want you to leave Yoongi alone."   Jimin turned around and Jihoon was standing in front of him inching closer and closer untill Jimin's back was pressed up against the wall.   "What?"   "You heard me. I don't want you NEAR my brother anymore." Jihoon had Jimin cornered in his room. "You're loud and annoying and god knows you're not as pretty as an omega should be. Especially not one for MY little brother.   Jimin felt tears prick up at the corners of his eyes. He stood there fearful of the other omega standing in front of him. He wasn't pretty? Yoongi always told him he was pretty. Had Yoongi told Jihoon to come here and tell him this? Questions and confusions began to swirl around his head. "W-What do you want me to do? We all live in the same house."   Jihoon clicked his tongue and scowled. "Ugly AND dumb. I want you GONE JIMIN! Your first heat should happen at anytime. You're 20 now. I don't want you in this house when it happens and giving Yoongi the chance to make a mistake and claim you as his mate. I'm just glad he hasn't already."   Jimin's face paled as he thought about having to leave Yoongi. "Leave? You want me to leave? Just leave behind my parents and everyone here?"   "Yes. Gone. Wendy and Jackson left a couple of years ago in chase of their mate. You can leave too." Jihoon inched closer to Jimin's face so he could lower his tone. "If you so much as tell anyone, ESPECIALLY Yoongi, that I'm making you do this, I'll be sure you can never speak again. Got it? The sooner you leave, the better. And if you don't leave, I'll make sure you mysteriously disapear one night. I have my ways, Jimin."   "Why are you doing this?" Jimin choked out as a whisper.   "Because I hate you, Jimin. You're not worth anyone's time here. Especially Yoongi's. You do nothing for him but cling to him and whine when something doesn't go your way. Now I suggest you start packing before I do it myself."   Jimin kept his eyes closed in fear even long after Jihoon had left his room. He slid his back down the wall until his bottom hit the floor. He hugged his knees to his chest and sobbed.   Yoongi. Yoongi was supposed to be HIS strong alpha to protect him, and maybe even later on in life love him. And now he had to leave him. He craved Yoongi's soothing voice, and arms wrapped tightly around him. He needed nothing more than Yoongi to be by his side, but soon he would have to abandon him.   "Jimin?" A soft yet strong voice came from the other side of the door.   Yoongi.   Jimin scrambled to his feet and quickly dried his eyes the best he could. He pulled a bag out from under his bed before walking over and unlocking the door.   "Hey, what's taking you so long? Shouldn't it be in your..." Yoongi's voice trailed off as he watched Jimin begin to put clothes in a bag. "Are ya going on vacation or soemthing?" Yoongi chuckled. When Jimin didn't answer, he began to worry.   He walked over and placed his hand on Jimin's shoulder, and he just shrugged it off. "I-I'm leaving." Jimin tried to say calmly, but his voice faltered.   Yoongi felt his heart drop. Jimin was crying. He didn't like when Jimin cried. "You're what? Are you and your parents moving?"   Jimin just shook his head as he hastily stuffed more clothes in to his bag. "No. I'm going alone. It's time to leave. Find a new pack."   "You're WHAT?" Yoongi all but screamed. "A new pack? Do Uncle Yixing and Sehun know about this?" Jimin just shook his head. "Why so suddenly, Jimin? When were you planning on telling me? Huh? Did you think you could just leave me without telling me?"   When Jimin still didn't answer, Yoongi grabbed him by the shoulders and pressed him up against the wall. "LOOK AT ME, JIMIN! ANSWER ME!"   Jimin kept he gaze diverted and tears began to stream rapidly down his face. All he could do was shake his head and cry. He didn't dare look Yoongi in the face. He knew if he did, there's no way he'd be able to leave. And he knew if he didn't leave, Jihoon would do something drastic to him.   "I-I just have to Yoongi. I'm sorry." His voice barely audible.   "No you don't, Jimin! No one here is making you leave. Why can't you stay? Are you unhappy here? Jimin please. Don't leave me behind." Yoongi's tone was back to normal now, and Jimin rather prefered him angry and yelling at him.   "I have to go, Yoongi." Jimin repeated.   There was a few moments of silence, and the grip on Jimin's shoulders loosened.   "Then let me come with you." Yoongi's voice was whisper quiet, hurt even.   Jimin gasped as more tears began to fall. He bit his lip in attempt to supress them. As much as he wanted Yoongi in his life, he knew if he came with, Jihoon would find him and punish him. It just wasn't fair.   "No. You can't."   "Why not?"   Jimin's heart ached as he knew what lie he had to say next in order to get Yoongi not to follow him. "I have to find my mate."   Yoongi's hands fell from Jimin's shoulders. "I see."   Jimin could hear the sadness in Yoongi's voice and it broke his entire soul to have to lie to him, the one person he wanted more than anything else in the world. It was silent and Jimin still didn't dare to look up. He could still sense Yoongi's presence.   "Please don't leave." Yoongi was crying now. "Please Chim Chim. Don't go."   Jimin zipped up his bag after placing the last of his items in it. "I'm sorry. I have to go."   Yoongi didn't reply. He couldn't. He was too heartbroken and dumbstruck for words. He couldn't believe that who he thought was his potential mate was getting ready to leave him to go find someone else. He felt his heart sink and eyes burn as more tears began to well up. He turned around and stormed out of the room, slamming the door on his way out.   Jimin crumpled to the floor wailing. He pondered for a moment that maybe dying wouldn't be such a horrible option. At least then he knew he wouldn't have to live without Yoongi.   He wasn't sure how long he had laid there crying, but by the time he was finished, he felt numb. He stood up, and adjusted a few things in his room before going downstairs to bid his family goodbye.   Jimin had never seen his fathers cry, but they certainly did when he told them he was leaving. They asked him to stay at least until the morning, but he demanded that he needed to leave immediately.   He was hugged by everyone, except Yoongi who was still in his room, even Jihoon who acted like he was shocked at the news.   "Jimin." His uncle Baekhyun said before he walked out of the door. "Are you sure you need to do this?" Jimin could only nod and Baekhyun sighed. "Chanyeol says theres a nice pack West of here towards the coast. It's about a two day trip. Be safe, oaky?"   Sehun walked over to his son and kissed him one last time on the forehead. "Be good kiddo. Come back and let us know you're safe at some point. We love you, and we'll miss you."   Jimin gave one last teary wave goodbye as he walked out the door and headed west through the woods.   Yoongi clutched his pillow tighter. "He can't leave. I won't let him. He's mine. I'm going to tell him." He stood up abruptly and stormed his way down the hallway towards Jimin's room. "Yah! Jimin! I-"   He stood in the doorframe of the empty bedroom. Jimin wasn't in there anymore. He panicked slightly as he ran through the house screaming. "JIMIN! JIMIN WHERE ARE YOU?" He flew downstairs and in to the living room. "JIMIN?"   Chanyeol stood up and turned towards his son with a sad look in his eyes. "Jimin left already." He said quietly.   "No..." Yoongi's heart shattered as he dashed back upstairs and in to Jimin's empty room. He sat down on the bed where he spotted a piece of paper sitting next to his grey t shirt he asked Jimin to find earlier. He clutched the tshirt in his hands, and carefully read the words scrawled out on the paper.   I'm so sorry. Please be good. I'll miss you Oongi.   Jimin's voice rang through his ears as he read the note over and over again.   "No. It can't be true."   He curled up in the fetal position on Jimin's bed holding the shirt in his shaky hands and taking in the familiar scent on it. His tears stained little dark circles on the fabric. He felt arms warp around his waist.   "Yoongi, honey, I'm so sorry. I know he was special to you."   Yoongi turned around and allowed himself to be held by the dainty arms of his father. Baekhyun stroked his hair and kissed the top of his head in attempt to soothe his child like he did when he was a pup.   "Why? Why did he have to leave?"   And with every choked sob, Yoongi felt himself lose more and more of his sanity.
