“Cut the crap, Nicholas.” I asked him sternly, slowly moving a little forward.

He sighed and took a deep breath.
“You are really no fun, Emanuel. You need to change a bit or else she will break up soon,” he still teased me, keeping his tone serious, but I know him.
“It seems that her mother has offended someone powerful both inside the city and outside. I investigated and found that she has been following a mafia don for a quite few years and has some solid evidence against him and his clients.”
