Chapter 7 Morning came too quickly. Steigan rose and packed, but he had a nagging feeling in his gut. Downstairs, he entered the kitchen. Lucinia chopped vegetables at the counter. He put his traveling pack on the floor and picked up an orange from the table. This had the same feel as yesterday and he couldn't help the twinge that ran through him. He jabbed his thumb into the rind and started peeling it back. One small change to make today different than yesterday. He took a seat at the table and looked at Lucinia. She hadn't acknowledged him yet, not even to wish him a good day. It made it harder for him to ask. “I was wondering if you could do something for me,” he said. Lucinia looked up, shocked.
