Frankie watched in astonishment as Manny’s green phoenix tattoo changed. It became slightly bigger, but that wasn’t what was confusing. Manny’s phoenix became pure white, but the eyes remained the same beautiful pale green that Manny had always had.
The contrast of the now white phoenix against Manny’s gorgeous Kelly green skin was stunning.
Frankie ghosted his fingertips against Manny’s side and a spark jumped through him, like static electricity.
Suddenly, Frankie hissed as his side began to burn, too. He lifted his arm and looked down at the tattoo of his blue and gold phoenix to find Manny’s white phoenix now being etched into his skin. The new tattoo of Manny’s bird was wrapped around his phoenix in an intimate embrace.
