Kara's POV "Kara?" A voice asked. Kara turned away from the window and in the direction where the voice came from. Bright brown eyes stared back at her, she ventured closer to him as she thought. His eyes still have that radiant glow they always gave when they were kids. How have they been burning this bright after all these years? "Hey," she replied as she sat in the chair next to his bed. "You're finally awake." His eyes scanned her from head to toe. He gently touched her hand, wondering if what he saw was real. "But how I thought you died? How are you here?" He showered her with questions. Kara released a sigh of relief as she embraced him. "I've missed you so much," she said to him. Raynor wrapped his arms around her and pulled her closer to him. He laid his head on her shoulder as tears leaked unknowingly from his eyes. "I thought I lost you," He replied. "What happened to you?" Kara asked as she released him from her embrace. "I'm the one who's supposed to be asking you that." He replied. "When Leon told me you were alive and captured, I knew I had to find you." She told him. "How did you get captured?" She asked. "After we left our pack Leon and I lived in the woods for a few years. That's when we met rogue wolfs who have been living there, and they took us in as one of them." He started. "One day, we wandered the forest searching for food when we wandered a bit too far and ended up in the Nightwalkers' territory. They captured us and held us prisoners." He said "Our plan was to escape, get to the rogues, and help the others escape, but unfortunately, it didn't go according to plan, and I was caught." Kara reached for a glass of water that was placed on the table beside him and gave it to him, he took a sip from it and placed it back on the table. "I thought Leon had abandoned me, but I was proven wrong when he showed up with some unidentified wolves." He finished. "And you happen to be one of the wolves who came to rescue me." He said with a smile. "Ah, that's why he was near the Blue Moon pack border that day." Kara thought aloud. "I can't believe that you're alive," Raynor said as he caressed her cheek with a longing look in his eyes. A slight tap on the door startled them. Kara pulled away from Raynor and stood. "You can come in," she said. Cameron entered the room with Leon right behind him. He scanned the room for a while before his gaze landed on Kara. "Our Alpha has summoned you to his office," He said in a formal tone. Summoned? Kara thought as she raised her brow at him. "Ok," She replied, then turned to Raynor, "I'll be back," she told him, then left the room. Cameron scanned the room one last time then he let closing the door behind him. ******** Kara entered James' office, worry washed over her as she felt the strong glooming aura that everyone inside was emitting. She approached James' desk, he had a stern look on his face, and Kara feared the worst had happened. "What happened?" she asked in a serious tone. James released a breath of sigh as he answered, "Alpha Hudson has decided to renounce his alliance with the Blue Moon pack." "WHAT?" Kara shouted, "That's bull. Why would he do that?" She questioned. "Turns out Nightwalkers' Alpha did not like that little stunt you all did when you kidn*pped his prisoner," Luke replied in a monotone voice. "I told you this would be a bad idea, and now we're paying for it." Cameron said, "If it weren't for her, who decides to play 'hero' and rescue everybody, we wouldn't be in this mess." He shouted, pointing at Kara, who stood there with a nonchalant look on her face. "If it weren't for her, your pack wouldn't even be scraping by with all the attacks you were already getting." Jason railed back at him. Cameron stepped closer to Jason and growled angrily at him. "ENOUGH," James growled. "Everyone get out." He said. Jason growled at Cameron and stumped out the door as the others followed behind him. Cameron gave James one last look and then left the room. James cupped his face in his hands and release another huge sigh. Kara approached him. She placed her hands around his and removed them from his face. "I'm sorry. This is all my fault." She said, "I let my emotions cloud my judgment, and I didn't think what that would do to your pack." She finished, as always, she tends to act before she thinks, and now the Blood Thirst pack will fall because of her. Why does she have these feelings? Six months ago, she resented James and everyone in the Blood Thirst pack, but since she got back, she felt nothing but sympathy for them...for James. James held her hand and stared up at her. His tear-filled eyes caused Kara's heart to ache with sadness. There was no denying it they were bonded by fate. No matter what she does to get away from him, something keeps pulling her back. After all these years, her feelings never died, and seeing him like this only made them resurface even more. "This is as much your pack as it is mine." He told her as he placed a gentle kiss on her arm. Chills ran down Kara's spine as a feeling she had never felt before took over her body. She pulled away from him, she walked towards the glass windows behind his desk, and stared at the night sky. Storm clouds engulfed the sky as lightning sparked each droplet of rain that hit the glass, causing lost memories to enter her mind. "Is it really?" She asked, "We were so close back then." She said as images of her life with James filled her thoughts. "We would sit and watch the rain together, you would cuddle me to sleep whenever I had nightmares," she said with a smile. "Then, after your dad passed away, you ignored me," she said. She watched as the raindrops danced along the glass. "I'm sorry, Kara," James replied as he stepped closer to her, "I never meant to make you feel that way. I was a mess, and my responsibilities as Alpha took over sooner than I expected." "Did your responsibilities force you to reject me?" She asked, "You knew long before I did, and you hid it. You didn't care that I was your mate or that you had countless duties. All you cared about was your image, you didn't want me because I would ruin your image as the pack's Alpha." Kara said as a stray tear slipped from her eyes. James held her by the waist and turned her to face him. He wiped her eyes. "I regret every moment of day since it happened. I never wanted to reject you. I just... I wasn't thinking." He said as he cupped her cheek in his hands. He stared deeply into her bright emerald eyes as they seemed to glow every time the lightning adorned the night sky. He pulled her face closer to his and caressed her cheek. James gently kissed her lips within a swift second before Kara could think or react. She froze in place, unaware of what to do. His kiss was the sweetness of passion, a million thoughts condensed into one. Kara's knees felt weak as his honeyed taste lips caused an eruption of emotions to fill her. James' POV James' heart softened as he saw the saddened look in Kara's eyes, he had no idea his actions had caused so much pain to her. He never means to hurt her in any way possible. But after his father passed, his mother blamed Kara for his death. So she forbade him to speak to her. After her found out she was his mate, he was overly relieved that he could have a reason to be with her and no one could stop him. But his mother found a way to stop it as well. "I regret every moment of day since it happened. I never wanted to reject you. I just... I wasn't thinking." He said as he cupped her cheek in his hands. He stared deeply into her bright emerald eyes, eyes he would get lost staring into every day. Her eyes glowed every time the lightning struck. He pulled her face closer to his and caressed her cheek. Glancing at her lips, he wondered how they would feel against his. As if his body moved on its own, he placed his lips unto hers. Her body stiffened at the sudden contact but relax right after. Her lips were soft, almost silken, and pillowed against his own. He kissed her softly at first, then with a swift graduation of intensity, making her cling to him as he deepened the kiss. James could feel the soft tickle of her breath beneath his nose as her lips parted slightly, allowing his tongue to slip through them. They breathe heavily as their lips press against each other, and their bodies entwined heatly against the glass window. A few minutes later, they released each other to catch their breath. Kara placed her hands on James' chest as she pulled away from his embrace. She closed her eyes to calm herself, then headed for the door. She stopped at the entrance and turned her head slightly. "I will speak to Alpha Hudson about the alliance." She said as she disappeared through the door. James touched his lips as images of their kiss flashed through his mind. He smiled victoriously as his wolf spoke. "She is finally ours."
