Chapter 15

1600 Words
Raynor's POV Leon stood beside Raynor as they both watched as Kara left the room with Blood Thirst's Beta in toe. "So this is the infamous Blood Thirst pack?" Raynor asked. "It's not as enticing as I imagined." He said as he rose from the bed. "Tell me, what have you learned so far?" He asked Leon. "Turns out our attacks from the past years have weakened their defense which caused them to make an alliance with the Blue Moon pack," Leon stated. "I have called the Alpha of the Blue Moon pack to renounce his alliance with them or become an enemy of the Nightwalkers." He finished. "Good," Raynor said as he stared at the sky. A storm tends to boom whenever he's around. "what about Kara? What relationship does she have with the Blood Thirst pack's Alpha?" He asked, turning to face Leon. "We saw them together at the falls near the pack borders when we first arrived, and they seem a bit too close for a visiting pack. My guess is they are mates." Leon finished. "Interesting," He replied, tapping his fingers on his chin. "Well, now that I'm here, it's time to turn the heat up. Let's show the Blood Thirst pack what happens when they mess with the Nightwalkers." He finished with a devious laugh. "Yes, Alpha," Leon replied with a slight bow. Kara's POV A breeze rustled the curtain, letting in the morning sunshine. All was quiet and bright as Kara lay in bed, unmovingly lost in thoughts. How was she going to convince Alpha Hudson to reconsider the alliance with the Blood Thirst? "You could tell him you're falling head over heels for their Alpha, and you don't want to leave him," Ameilia said. Hearing her voice caused Kara to bolt out of bed. "What, where have you been? I haven't heard from you in days." She questioned Ameilia. "I was here watching and enjoying the show." She replied. "I thought we hated our mate for all he did, but now you're falling for him." she finished. "Yea, the week my heart betrayed me, and now I can't get him out of my head," Kara replied as she sat on the bed holding her head. "Don't tell me you don't feel it too?" She asked. "Of course I do, I am the sole reason you have a mate, to begin with." She began. "I have always longed for the feel of our mate, and now that you have finally accepted him, we can finish the mating process and have him all to ourselves." She finished with a loud woof. Since Kara and James shared that intent kiss, Kara could hear her howling with affection all night. Was I being selfish by not thinking about how she would feel living without our mate? Kara questioned herself. "I'm not sure if what I feel for James is genuine or just a pull caused by the mate bond." Kara started, "I know we were close when we were young, but that could also be the fact that we were mates since birth, right? And I have resented him for the past five years." She finished. "But do you really hate him?" Amelia asked. "Do I hate him?" Kara asked herself, "Do I hate him? I don't know." She replied. ******* Kara stepped through the door and was greeted by the fresh morning breeze. "Ahh, how refreshing," She said. "Isn't it?" James said as he joined her on the patio. Kara turned to look at him, and a slight blush began to make its way toward her cheeks. "Ahh, I can't believe we're leaving," Kara heard as she turned to see Alexis and Jason making their way toward the pack house. "And nothing exciting has happened since we've been here." She cried. "Exciting, you say. How about venturing into a deadly pack, probably hunting us down as we speak." Jason replied, "What is running for your life not exciting enough for you?" He asked her. "Kara," She shouted as she ran towards her. "You're a bit too hyper for my morning," Kara told her as she wrapped her arm around her neck. "Tsk as if," she replied, rolling her eyes. "We're packed and ready to go," Luke said, coming through the door. "You guys did more harm than good being here. So it's best you all leave," Cameron said as he made his way towards them. "What about Leon and Raynor? They are coming back with us." Kara said. "No, they are our prisoners, and they will stay here," Cameron replied with an angry look on his face. "We did not rescue them so they could be your prisoners," Kara told him as she gave him a stern look. "Alpha, we have a problem," the Blood Thirsts' pack gamma said as he approached the commotion. He handed James a tablet. James took it from him and saw a video on the screen. He pressed play, and everyone went closer to see what it was about. A video with a figure without a face spoke through the screen, "Alpha of the Blood Thirst packs, you have significantly offended our Alpha by venturing into our territory and taking one of our prisoners. We demand the return of our prisoner immediately. If you refuse, this will not end well for you or your pack. " The unidentified figure said. "Any pack in alliance with the Blood Thirst pack will be greatly impacted. Surrender now or watch as your pack crumbles beneath your feet." Those were the words of the unknown figure, but those few words were enough to chill any being to the core. Kara stared at James, who stared intensely at the video. What could he be thinking? Kara thought. "This is what you caused by being here," Cameron said to Kara. "What is your problem?"Alexis said as she stepped in front of Cameron, "Your pack was just threatened, and instead of coming up with a plan to defend them, you're here accusing us of things that have already passed. I can't believe your, my mate." Alexis said without realizing it. "WHAT!!!" They all replied in unison. Then, everyone started wide-eyed at Cameron and Alexis, who were now red as a tomato. "What? Where? When? How?" Kara asked as she shook her head. She grabbed Alexis by the shoulder and shook her vigorously, trying to shake the thought of Cameron being her best friend's mate from her head. Cameron's kids will call me Aunty, she thought as she crinch. "Ahh, since the day we first met, but he came to me and said not to tell anyone," Alexis replied. "But why didn't you tell me?" Kar asked as she released her, with a sad look in her eyes. "Cameron thought it wouldn't settle well with you knowing you guys ah history," Kara nodded and hugged her. "I'm glad you found your mate, and I hope he makes you happy in every possible way." She told Alexis with a smile. "If you hurt her or lay a finger on her, I promise I will hunt you down where ever you are and give you a slow and painful death," she told Cameron, who shirked away from her with fear in his eyes. "Now we've gotten all of that out of the way," We should be heading back now," Luke said as he turned to leave. "We can't leave." Kara said as she walked toward Luke, "We can't leave, especially now that their [ack is in danger." She replied. Luk's POV "We can't leave," Kara said. Luke turned around to see her standing behind him. She had that stubborn look on her face that always annoyed him. "Yes, we can, or did you not hear the part where they said any pack in the alliance with them will be greatly harmed? " Stop speaking with your head in the clouds and think about our pack. Don't forget you're a part of the Blue Moon pack, not theirs." Luke stated angrily as he loomed over Kara, who stepped back. This was the first she had ever seen Luke express any form of emotion. With his words, Kara pushed at his chest, causing him to stumble back. "I'm not leaving," She told him as she stared at him. Luke stared back at her wide as he saw her eyes glow red momentarily. At that moment, Luke froze, unmoving, as if he was not in control of his body. He could feel the strong aura she was emitting, and fear took over his entire body. He knew what she could do but thought it was a mere myth. How could she be an Alpha royal? They died out years before our generation. But what he felt was real. Her aura was even more potent than Alpha Hudson's. Kara stepped away from Luke and left. He fell to the ground trying to regain his strength. Jason grabbed his arm and steadied him to his feet. "Are you Ok?" he asked. "Yea, I'm fine," He replied as he pulled away from his grip. He went toward the parking lot and called Alpha Hudson. "It's her." He said. "Ah, I knew it." Alpha Hudson replied. "I want you to stay there, help them defend against the Nightwalkers." he finished with a sinister laugh. " Also, kill the Alpha while you're at it. He has proven to be nothing but a mere distraction for our little prodigy." He said. "Yes, Alpha," Luke replied as he ended the call and left for the pack house.
