Chapter 2

349 Words
Kara stopped running when she reached the outside of the school. "Ugh, I can't believe he rejected me!" Kara exclaimed. "He doesn't deserve to be called our mate, that pathetic lunatic, ugh" Ameillia shouted. "I'm done, I've been waiting for my mate thinking I'll find some hope of survival in this retread place, but no, I'm not gonna stand here and be treated this way, I'm leaving," Kara said, wiping angry tears from her eyes. She ran off the school grounds and headed straight to the packhouse. She went to her room up in the attic, which had a makeshift bed, a half-broken glass, a small dresser, and a portable closet. It wasn't much but it was what she called home until now. She went downstairs after packing her bag and headed for the back door leading to the forest. She shifted into her wolf and started running. She crossed the pack border and she never looked back. ****** Kara had been running for almost three days. She was hungry, tired, and weak from the pain of losing her mate. "Kara, we need to stop, I'm hungry and we need to rest," Ameillia stated. Kara didn't want to stop but she had to let her wolf get some rest, at least they were far away from the pack borders. " OK, let's stop here for the night," Kara told her wolf as she went to drink water from a nearby lake. James POV "Hey, Cam, have you seen Kara anywhere?" James asked, trying not to sound worried. He had not seen her since the day he tried rejecting her. As much as he didn't want to admit it, he was worried about her, since he didn't get to reject her, the mate bond was still intact, and had been feeling a mixture of emotions since then. "Nah man, I haven't seen her, why'd you ask?" Cameron asked, eyeing him suspiciously. James ran his fingers through his silky blonde hair as he replied, "I'll tell you later." He replied, thinking of Kara as he ran off the school grounds. ***************
