Caleb stood there, wanting to suggest something, but he was uncertain if it was a proper thing right now.

“Come into the living room. We will talk about it. Sammy can sleep on the couch.”

I do not know what is happening, just that someone is trying to get to her this morning, and someone is in the castle already… or someone from our pack betrayed us. No one has permission to touch my queen, not even one f*****g hair from her head.” My mate is shooting angry and so loud that the walls shake.

If I were not his mate, I would have sweat as everyone does in this room, so I went to him and kissed him enough that he forgot why he was furious, and only stopped when he was calming down. He hugged me and smelled my hair, then whispered in my ears.

“I can't survive without you, kitten. I love you too damn much to let you be in danger.”

“I am with you, and I will forever be. You will protect me as you already have. I know you fulfill your commitment because you are my soul, and together we are strong enough to combat everything who is trying to get us apart. I can't live without you, either, or I love you to no end.”

“Was it a marriage proposal?” Hulk asked, and made Lucas and Nina chuckle.

Celeste was with him, and she was not happy at all. Caleb let go of me, making his way to confront her by asking her why she disappeared from the training area, leaving me alone with Sammy.

“I took the kids out of there. She becomes like a ball of light who is going to explode and slaughter everyone. I knew we were in danger, the kid said that.” Celeste lied.

“Sammy! His name is Sammy. You never used my brother's name. Why?” Caleb hisses, then continues. “You were one of my best friends Celeste, I know when you lie. Not only that, but you have felt the threat approaching your Luna, and prefer to do nothing about it, letting a little boy take this pain, isn't it? Or… you were the threat. So, tell me, Celeste, what the f**k is your problem and why did you choose to betray me?” My mate distrusted her and made her confess under his Alpha power.

Without being able to get on her feet, Celeste said, crying that she is in love with him, and she wants me gone. About Sammy, she added. He became more attention than she was becoming.

“Why don't you want me?” She screamed at Caleb. “I have rejected my mate for you. You do not need her. I was all my life near you, and I was there when you refused another woman. It is because you love me too, but you didn't realize it.”

*Wow* What did you do to her? * I ask Caleb.

*I do not know, Kitten. But I have a bad feeling about this s**t. * Caleb was a little unhappy because she trusted her, and now he must send her away if she continued to intervene between us.

The wolves are peaceful. We try to resolve our problems, avoiding slaughtering each other. We can love and hate. “Alpha Matthias, but I can't recall the entire name, not even my pack name. It is just like they removed my memory. My dad let me alone there when I was three years old, saying he was coming back, but he did not. My uncle took care of me, and Lala was my best friend. Only Luna was a little sad and distant.”

“Skittles?” I cried so hard when I realized who he was.

It was his nickname because he always wanted skittles bars and sometimes stole them and hid them under his pillow. Markus announced he was dead too, but here he was under Caleb's wings, waiting for me. I squeezed Sammy, and we cried with happiness, then I ran into my mate's arms, saying thanks over again. My father did not say that he was my cousin, not even Sammy mentioned anything about that because it was under Alpha's command.

Then it hits me. He was my father's way of helping him. Sammy was in my dad's office when I dreamed about the small box. Sammy was helping me without indeed knowing. Caleb knew as well that it had something to do with me because he was so protective of this boy, without explanation, and I was in his mind on the exact day when Sammy entered the borders.

Fuck me! Everything is so f****d up, with many secrets and wrong leads. My father wanted to protect every one-of us, but left nothing behind to make it easier. Who wants me killed and why? Now mated with Caleb and marked, we kept the balance. Why would I be a threat to anyone? Ah! So many questions.

“How did my dad know where he will be safe? He knew so much, but how?” I am asking no one in particular.

“I have an answer for you.” Brenda responds. “Your father saw the future one time when your mom died. You are born with golden energy, the first child who does not need balance because you did not get the elements, you are one with them, as Caleb before explained, that is why he has your father's golden power from you, you didn't need it. You already know about that from my son. Not only that, but you choose to give the gift of knowledge, aware that Caleb is your mate. Your old man knew as well, you just cannot remember. He came to us and revealed everything. But the rightest thing to do is to fight for Caleb and his love, and let him love you in his way and you in yours. “We don't trust Alpha Markus or many of the Alphas. That is why I ask your family to stay here with us. Mary can continue as a pack doctor. Kevin and Nina will have their own business further. And, my Luna, if you need your father's company, you can have it… because I just bought it as a gift for you. All I want is to never go alone there. You can manage it from home a lot as well.” Caleb joins the conversation.

“You did what?” I am jumping like an i***t from side to side. “You did that for me? You did that?” I asked, not believing that my father's business is now secure. I jump into his arms, kissing him, forgetting that there are people around us.

“Stop eating at Lala's face, Coby! When do you learn to do that? You never had a girlfriend.” Yes, Sammy is around too.

“He learned by making out with the pillows.” Hulk mocks and Hi-five his twins.

“f**k off!” Caleb said, annoyed, and everyone laughed.

“I prefer not to see that either. She is my sister, for crying out loud.” Kev complains, forming a funny face.

I hid my red cheeks in Caleb's chest, causing all of them to giggle.

We talk about what will happen next, about this creature who looks like a wolf in flames, where we can find him, or how we can fight him if he has incredible dark energy. Caleb said that my power could be taken from me, and the ring I own is the key. It means that someone knows how to use my mother's ring, but we do not. The best thing to do is hide the ring, and the big question is where.

Mary wanted to go back and have an eye on Alpha, Kevin does not want us apart, and Nina… well, she goes wherever Kev goes, but she wants to be near us too.

Sammy and Paul are laughing at each other, and Caleb's parents are helping, but John is unhappy. There is something wrong.

“What's going on, Johnny? You are so serious.”

“I am sorry, it's just, I'm sorry I didn't tell you, but Celeste was my mate, and we rejected each other. I am okay about that, but I did not believe that she denied me to be with best friend Caleb. “Do you have to ruin everything, shitface?” John argued with his brother.

“We are twins!” Paul cracked up, laughing.

Here we go again. It is interesting to see how they are mocking each other, but…

“I'm hungry.” I grumbled, and everybody was looking my way. “What? I didn't eat today.” Now everyone is glaring at Caleb.

The twins started giggling, forgetting about their arguments.

“Let's feed you, then.” Caleb said, carrying me in bridal style.
