Meeting him

I am struggling to figure out how to find Serenity.

Markus does not wish me to speak to her, and that alone awakened my concern.

Hmm, I do not need my revenge to eat me alive bit by bit. I just continue thinking about what is so important to them, and I do not have to be discovered.

I am sitting at my desk trying to work, but my mind is full of thoughts until the phone rings.

“Hey, little sissy, I found a car for you. Please come by, we're going to buy it for your majesty.” Kevin informs me, proud of himself.

“Yes, please!! In thirty minutes?”

“Will do.”

“Thanks, Kev. You are my favorite brother.”

“I'm the only relative. You know that, right?”

I burst out laughing and hung up the phone.

I do not have money for a fancy car, but I save enough for a black Car Grand Cherokee.

“Knock knock. Can I come in, Kev?” I am asking, but have already stepped inside his office.

“Your Jeep is ten miles (ca. 16 km) from here and is open for the next 3 hours. Ready?”

“Yes, I'm thrilled about it.” grinning from ear to ear

“We have to do something first. As you notice, next Monday, the Alpha King wishes to make his presence with his family and announce the soon King. We all must be there to welcome him. Maybe you locate your friend there, or you can feel him somehow.”

“I don't know if it works. I mean, I have this ring and dreams about my mate, but I cannot talk to him or move. It is a sin. What if my mate turns into the Wolf with red eyes, and that is because of me?” I confess my uncertainty.

“You can't find out if you are too scared to give him a chance. We do not even understand the truth about light and dark. And you cannot delay too long, everything is too much for you. What if, without a mate, it is also fatal?” Kevin illustrated his theory.

Well, s**t.

“Ok, perhaps you are correct. I know I am not alone in this issue, but I must study my magic somehow. Working from afar will do, and soon I will have a car to find someone to help me.”

“Travel where?” Kev asked, intrigued.

“I did some research on this matter. The last magical wolf makes his appearance somewhere in Canada, next to The United Kingdom, and nearby. We recognize the Wolf as the Dark Moon Wolf.”

“Only the King of Alphas has the dark Moon on their forehead in Wolf form.” Kev's sight, running his palm over the face, then continued,

“If they are Kings, it will be difficult to ask for cooperation. How can you count on someone with so much influence?”

“f**k! I am uncertain if I should count on Serenity, either. Even if she had the power of a ‘Golden wolf’, or maybe she still has them and is harmonized with her lover, or maybe she's got a rogue? I do not know where they are now, but she keeps coming back.”

“I will do some investigation on my own and let you know, but if something goes wrong, I want to help. You may need help.”

“Thanks, Kev, I appreciate your support.”

I confess, giving him a hug.

“Now come to buy the car. Nina would like to go shopping with you.”

“Try this attire, please.”

Said Nina, displaying the blue aquamarine knee-long dress, an off-shoulder neckline, an asymmetrical waistline, and excellent quality material, carrying in my hands already.

“Have you found anything?”

“Yep! And Kev will idolize this body.”

Oh God, I am confident it would be better not to know.

“What did you find?”

Nina then came out from the dressing room with an elegant Black body-con knee-long dress and a sweetheart neckline.

Lovely indeed

“You look fantastic, Nina. You will make my brother lose his judgment.” I admitted, watching her blushing.

“Now that we have adequate dresses, can we go eat? I'm starved.” Nina said, and I can only agree.

Having a seat at a dinner table by the window, the waiter took our orders, and now we make jokes waiting for food. Suddenly, I got a shiver running down my spine. No one paid attention to us in the diner, but I felt like someone was watching me. I struggle to drop the suspicion that I was at someone's attention and eat further my burger and French fries.

“I have a suggestion! Tonight will be girls' night. We cannot go home on Friday, L! I know a place, not very loud and not too crowded.” Nina shoots as she is gesturing with her hands, which makes me giggle.

“I'm not sure whether it is a safe idea. I have this belief that someone is following us.”

“In this restaurant?” Nina asked.

“No. I don't know, but since we are here, I'm uncomfortable.” I responded.

“Then let us move. We go out of town and if something is off, we call it a night. Ok?”

I nod, deciding to calm down. I am too stressed.

“We have to tell Kev.” I was warned.

“Yeah, right, I'd rather not. He will do this possessive mate stuff.” Nina's node is negative.

We left town and headed for this bar, but I cannot get rid of this unsettled feeling. Thoughtful, it startled me when Nina interrupted the music and claimed we had reached our destination.

“We are here. Stop there.” Nina repeated, pointing to a parking lot.

Well, we breathe the air of nowhere!

This bar is like a wooden cabin design, out of the city on the opposite side of Bluestone.

Inside smells like alcohol, cigarettes, humans, and Wolves, but thank God it is a normal bar only for drinking and talking. I can see a pool table, armchairs, and the long bar made of wood with bottles of liquor placed on the shelves on the wall with light bulbs printed in them, also of wood, and lined up stools.

“Now, because you have to drive and all that, we may drink just two shots of tequila and two beers.” says Nina, putting the drinks on the table.

Time has passed. We are still playing pool table with some guys. I smell a familiar scent. Crap!

“What the hell?” Kev's angry voice filled the room.

“You are f*****g crazy? I called the two of you. Love, you make me lose my s**t!”

I have not seen him this angry before. He is about to destroy the f*****g bar.

“It is not a big deal, babe, plus Lara needed to clear her mind.” Nina pleaded.

“And for that reason, you didn't call? I must know where you are. What if something goes wrong, huh? You call me when it is too late? Just go in the f*****g car.”

He is furious.

“How do you find us, anyway?” I ask.

Kev glanced in my direction with black eyes. Not good.

“Kev please, there are humans in the bar.

Nina, take him out of here. I see you home, ok?”

Nina nodded and Kev took her in his arms and inhaled her scent, calming him. He then looked at me and muttered catch you home, then both left me in front of my jeep.

I sat there for a few moments and then when I was about to get in the jeep, a howl of a Wolf caught my attention, making me feel like I was in terrible danger.

“In his roar, I felt the darkness, Clarissa.” I said to my Wolf.

“It's drawing closer.” Clarissa warned.

Getting in the car, I speed up on my way home, looking in the rearview mirrors. I see if he's following me. Suddenly, he throws himself on the Jeep and breaks the roof, penetrating the claws through, and I am trying to avoid the claws without slowing down. But then I applied the brakes, and the wolf slipped on the hood, throwing him in the middle of the street. He stood up and shook his head, then let out a growl, baring his fangs and coming towards me, showing me the fierce red eyes.

No way! My nightmares are now a reality.

I got out of the car to face him, shifting now to Golden-White Wolf, power radiating from me. I will fight!

We did not need to wait any longer. We already wound each other's collar, and he was forcing me to fall on my back. Struggling to pull him off me, I bit his front leg, making him even fiercer. I rolled around, dug deep with my fangs in the back of his neck then threw him into a tree, causing injury to his body.

He rushed at me once again, biting the tail of my pole, making me bleed, and I unleashed a wave of energy that pushed him much further this time. Take that, fucker.

I want to run, but I am out of strength. I see him get angrier and his fur seems on fire now moving towards me growling. He is a magic wolf. I do not think I can describe how dark his power is, which causes ravage, demolition, and suffering. I go one step further and keep accumulating the energy to prevent what is coming.

Suddenly, a loud, aggressive howl I heard distantly… pushing me to accumulate the effectiveness of four elements, for whatever reason. I put my paw on the ground, making it vibrate. Then a pulse of accumulated energy exploded, cleaning up everything dangerously around. The ugly piece of s**t took off. Shifting back, of course, without clothes, I am on my knees breathing extremely hard. He is not dead. I wish it were. Intending to calm down, I notice someone approaching through the trees. It does not seem to be harmful. The sexy gentleman with green eyes from the office appears without a shirt or shoes. Being fascinated by his muscles, I did not get up, but he got to my level, on a knee, looking at me with eyes full of anger, fear, panic, love, relief, and many feelings I cannot decipher.

“Tell me you are okay.” He did not ask.

“Kitten, say it.” He continued, covering my body with the blanket from my car. When did he take that?

I am delirious. I am so comfortable near him, but I have a mate. Even so, I'm affectionate about this person. Why do I have this conflict with myself? His eyes are beautiful, and I have this urge to kiss him.

“Mate.” the word came out of my mouth

He did not move for a few seconds and then looked into my eyes and said smiling “I find you, mate.”

After he confirms that, Clarissa could smell and acknowledge him as our mate. A pleasant shiver shot through my body, a wonderful smell of mint and cinnamon caressed my nose, and my emotions found their place together, exploring every particle of 'one soul'.

Overwhelming!

He picks me up in a bride style, causing me to feel a small electric shock all over my body, driving my heartbeat fast. Thousands of butterflies devour me inside, making me feel happy and relaxed. I can hear his heart beating fast. Holding me even tighter in his arms, he whispered in my ear, “let's go home.”

I am waking up in a soft and warm bed, stretching my hands over my head and moaning. I want to move, but I am often more comfortable on my back until I feel a pain in my foot. Right! The fight… my eyes open and look around. Where am I? I try to get out of bed, my foot seems to improve in a couple of hours. Yep! Wolves heal much faster than humans.

I am still f*****g naked. The corner of the bed is where I am standing. The scent of mints and cinnamon was perfect for me. I turned around, and I saw the exact man from last night. He looked at me with sparks in his eyes, with his hands under his head, bare chest, covered only on one leg and the other, holding the knee up. Sexy posture if you ask me… that is why my eyes flow all over his body. Hearing his smirk makes me look into his eyes again.

“What the hell are you doing in my bed?” I ask, jumping to my feet, after realizing that he had slept next to me. He tried to say something, but my necked body caught his attention, making me blush like a tomato.

“You perv” I screamed, then wrapped myself in whatever I found on the bed.

He came to me only in his shorts, walking like a God.

“You didn't let me go, and I didn't want that either.” He murmured in a sexy, unique voice.

“And I'm glad you love my bed so much.” He whispered in my ear, close to me, making me tremble, and he started inhaling my scent. Wait, what? Oh! My bad.

“Where am I?” I ask, looking around

“My room.”

“No s**t! And where is this room?”

He let out a laugh, then added,

“You can take a shower if you want to, and while eating something, I will tell you everything. I'll go downstairs and make breakfast for us.” He said, kissing my cheek.

I nodded and sought some clothes then took a hot shower, put on a t-shirt of his and shorts.

I left my hair on my back, being long to the middle of it, then looking for the exit door.

The room is large, the bed is enormous with a light gray bedside stand in a simple modern style. Instead of windows, there are high panels from top to bottom and wide from one wall to another with a virtual view of the blue ocean, giving this feeling of freedom when the waves were gently drenching the sand. Opposite the panorama, there is a wardrobe and a bathroom and in front of the bed, there is a sofa, a table, a TV on the wall, and the exit. I left the room, discovering along the corridor a few doors, other bedrooms. At the end of the hall are stairs to the left and right, leading to an enormous area with a massive front gate, and there are entrances without exits on each side of the stairs. The right side leads me to the kitchen, spacious dining room, and yes… a huge living room. I do not know what it is on the left side of the stair, but here the detection of food attracts me.

“Nice big house.” I said to my mate, who is an excellent cook because the smell is delicious, and the scrambled eggs, sausages, bacon, and pancakes look tasty.

“Yeah, I like the open spaces.” Showing me to sit down, we eat.

Trying to break the ice, I asked him. “Please, tell me something. Who are you? We have met before. Why didn't I recognize you as my mate, but you did? And why do I have to say *mate* first, to be able to feel you?” I ask, forgetting to give him time to answer.

“My name is Caleb… Caleb Knight. I know you are Lara Moonlight, daughter of two poor-blood alphas. You called for me for many years. I dream of you, search for you, I fell with you, falling for you… With us is different because you are special. You have a fated mate, but you must fall for him on your own. We met. I knew who you were at that moment, but you did not recognize the bond, and I could not say anything until you came to be aware of it. Understanding what you feel is your protection until you appreciate my intention with you. And you did. You have this gift, but your father did not have it. As you are an element, Wolf, I am one too, and as you are my light, I will be your darkness.” He explained, and I remained like a statue. He knew my dad, too.

“How have I called you for so many years? I dreamed about you a couple of months ago.” I was shocked.

“You were in need” he just replies

“How do you know about everything?” I wanted to understand.

“Because I'm the future King.” He said, raising his eyebrow.

“Say what?”
