The White-Golden Wolf

Serenity part. 1

The castle is secure. Caleb and Johnny evaluated the loyalty of warriors, the staff, and everyone who was in our territory. Now, the pack is safe and peaceful.

Kathy and Hulk joined us for a while, but they asked us for our opinion about returning to Bluemoon and taking over as Alpha and Luna. If I were them, I would have done the same thing. I could not leave the pack unprotected, especially when it is without a Beta, and her father thinks about himself not being able to take care of everyone's needs.

Of course, Caleb agreed to the safety of Bluemoon, not intending to look for anyone else. Being the king of wolves, only he can decide whether someone is worthy of protecting a pack.

Johnny stays with us, but without his brother, nothing will be the same again, and I am sorry to see him in this situation. Paul will visit him and talk to him every chance he could, just… the twin's team is no longer in our gang. I hope they know I am unhappy about changing their course when I appear in their lives. Paul was happy with Kathy and would not go back in time, but Johnny was not so lucky. Celeste left him for his best friend, and she died from his hands. But all this happened because he wanted to protect me. I am so sad about everything, and I wish I could have done better.

“Don't do that, Lara. I am more than fortunate to help my friends and family, not only the King and the Queen. I know you feel guilty about this situation, but do not be. Celeste had to die for many reasons that I want not to talk about, but she was one of the evil people I met in my life and did things like killing without a second chance. I found out about everything, but I could not prove it until I discovered her diary. Although I don't understand how you can kill someone for your sick desires and then write about it like it was a normal day.” Johnny takes a seat beside me and tries to comfort me.

“Kathy or Caleb?” I ask him instead.

“I have seen you being sad and worried about something or someone before, but this is guilt that you feel, and I need to make you understand that even if it is for you, I murder, I always have a reason to do it, and I'm honored to do so. But it was not because she had you injured. It was for the family that had remained without their sons, mates, fathers, mothers, or siblings. She did many things that we did not know about before Caleb sent me to investigate, and killing a kid, I think, was her next step. Caleb did not want me to be the one to execute Celeste, only because I was her rejected mate… but I did it, anyway. The reason was not only my responsibility to protect the kingdom and its rulers, but everyone in it. After all, I am the King's Beta.

“I was unaware that she was such a bad person. I knew she loved my mate, but it was my fault, too. I did nothing about it, just because I trust and feel Caleb's intention.”

“I am sorry to tell you that, but she had killed people before you became the queen, too. She was so angry that Caleb did not choose her, and she always murdered someone and made it look like it was an accident. She was a sick woman, Lara, and please don't forget that.”

“That's right. Sometimes it is too late for some people, but that does not mean we have to give up. I am sorry this happened, but I guess Celeste knew who Sammy's dad was. And I am sure he is someone I know. Sammy cannot remember anything because he was too small. But I think when he is around, he will realize he is his father. There are so many secrets and enemies. I am glad, you're part of the family I trust the most. Thanks for taking care of me, Johnny.” I told him, resting my head on his shoulder, and admiring the enormous garden full of flowers and decorated with fountains.

After a while, I felt him on the road a few meters behind me with Kathy and Paul. They wanted to say goodbye to us.

“Hey there, I want to cry on my brother's shoulder, too. I will miss him, but when I feel lost, I will think of his muscles in the garden.” Paul said, wiping away his non-existent tears.

“The distance was of no use to you. I see you are stupid like before.” Johnny murmured and smiled.

“Well, how could it be better without my twin?” Paul keeps continuing to dramatize.

“Hey everybody, we need to talk about something important. Can you please pay attention for a while?” Caleb's voice sounds clear and serious, coming to me and kissing me on the forehead.

“I know it is exceedingly difficult for you two to stay apart, but Bluemoon is three hours away from us, and you can still see each other. I want to say thank you for what you have done for us and my pack. Without your support, I would not be alive now, or so happy next to my mate.” Kathy added.

“I'm glad we could help, and we're profoundly grateful that you helped us, too. Without you, I do not think we could have found Sammy as fast. If it were not for you, I didn't know there was anyone close who could have kidnapped him.” I replied and hugged her, then looked at Caleb and waited to begin with his news.

“What I would like to talk about is critical. Serenity appeared in your old pack, Lara. With the request to give up the Bluestone to Alpha Goliath. Alpha Markus called, for about ten minutes.” Caleb informed us.

“What does it mean? He did not fight back or something? Who is this Alpha Goliath, and what the f**k he wants from that pack?” I asked these questions one after the other because the twins froze, and Kathy's face turned white. Only Caleb tries not to look too tense.

“Alpha Markus is not so strong as to defeat Goliath. That would mean withdrawing without entering a fight he cannot overcome. That is why he called me. He wants our aid. Markus is not a legal Alpha as many believe, and Serenity is trying to take on the role of Luna because it entitled her to this position. But you are the legitimate daughter who has every right to lead the pack. Not just the offspring of true blood alpha and the Golden-White Wolf. You are now the queen of wolves. Not even Serenity and Goliath can win here.” My mate explained to me how things are.

“Who is f*****g Goliath? We must pay a visit to the Bluestone pack. I need to talk to Serenity, and I do not care what you say, Caleb. This time, you cannot stop me. I am tired of so many secrets and betrayals. I demand to know what Serenity and Goliath want from my pack because until today, they have had no interest in taking over. Why now?” I have questions as always and no answers. Will that day come when everything will be normal and quiet?

“I won't try to keep you away, but without me, you won't go anywhere, and someone will have to do some of my work while I'm gone. Sammy is in excellent hands with my parents, but I would like to not involve them further in my affairs. They withdrew because they want peace and fulfillment at last, and Sammy is their relief… and we are their safety. I need time to organize this departure. Give me one day, please. I must call everywhere and put someone I can trust in Johnny's place because he will come with us. When I am not two seconds near you, it will be him. Kevin will replace Paul from time to time, but he takes care of your father's business as well. So please try not to make hasty decisions and leave alone.” Caleb explained.

I would not do that, even though it crossed my mind. But I will not decide without him. I hope to find Serenity tomorrow when we get to the pack around noon.

“If anything, I'll be here to help Caleb with no problems. We'll cancel the departure until you return, and if I detect any damage from my brother, I will call you right away.” Hulk also had to open his mouth because it was not the perfect day until now.

“You're the only one who makes s**t dust.” Johnny replied, nodding, and pointing his middle finger.

“I thought they did that only on the phone, but I was wrong with my telepathy too… I think they will never change, strange love between brothers, I would add.” Kathy comments and goes to the twins, grabbing them both by the ears, and orders them not to sting each other. I could not help myself and started laughing. It is hilarious to look at a small woman, taking two giant men by the ears.

“I sent someone to investigate Sammy's past, to identify who his father is. Serenity has many of the answers, and I will get them soon. I told Alpha Markus to do everything to hold her there for a few days… I do not know how, but we will have to find her tomorrow and talk to her, and Kitten… About Alpha Goliath, he is the king of the Blackforest pack, the most dangerous wolf shelter in his territory, which is in another country. Many think it is far away, but it is not so. He is in Canada, but no one knows where. The crimes that take place by them, you will not want to hear about, believe me. I have no authority in another state. Even if I am the King of Alphas and powerful enough to burn the world of wolves, the rules are the same as those of humans. We have certain laws to keep regarding someone's incarceration. We have no evidence against him.” My mate explained to me, making the twins and Kathy stop arguing.

“But something doesn't give me peace. Where is our famous burning wolf?” Paul added.

“He hasn't appeared since they kidnapped Sammy. The killer from the dungeon does not know s**t about it. Celeste paid him to assassinate the queen. Fascinating, though. But if I must think about it… something is not right. Celeste knew she could not kill her, but she sent someone, regardless of the situation. She had a plan, but failed. I wonder what she wanted to do.” Johnny lined up his thoughts, raising both eyebrows, and then frowned.

The five of us sat there and wondered what might or might not be about Serenity and her mate, where the burning wolf might be, who Sammy's dad was, and whether they were the same person. I cannot wait to meet her tomorrow and talk about what happened a few years ago. What is the current reason, and what the hell is she doing with Goliath? She is not her proper mate, she chose him and that means she is not innocent as her name suggests, only if it is true, and he is her actual mate after all. Because she was in love with him, even though Serenity mated to my father, only to balance the golden elements. Why do they now want to conquer this pack?

“I will come with you, and in case of anything, I can help you enter her mind without realizing it or driving you away. You have the power to see, but I can read what she feels.” Kathy announced, looking at me and raising a finger at Paul, who, at that moment, wanted to express his opinion about her plan.

“I do not know if it would be a suitable solution. You have valuable information that puts you in danger at every corner. For now, they look after you in your pack, but we are not confident if it is sufficient, Kathy. If this burning wolf attacks the pack, you will only be able to escape if he is alone. But what will happen if he finds you somewhere in a strange place and without adequate protection? I see Caleb sent warriors to help protect you… but I still must wonder if that is enough. He is an evil motherfucker.” I told her my opinion.

This Goliath, he is the burning wolf, and Serenity helps him to take my powers as she did with my father before…

It takes hours of talking about whether Kathy would come with us. We decided she was not coming because the danger was too great. So, tomorrow we will be on our way in the morning, and here, Kev will take care of business instead of Johnny, and Paul and Kathy will have to look after the pack until we return. In case of need, Caleb's parents will lend a helping hand.

I feel nervous all the time. I slept late and gave me ideas about how it will go with Serenity, and how it will behave. What will my father have to say about what role he played in all this? We have been towards Bluestone for some moment, and I already recognize the locations, feeling even more uneasy.

I hope Markus did not tweet about our coming. It would disappoint not to find her there. If so, I am going to kill him. Well, not really, but I am already pissed about it.

Caleb tensed and scanned the surroundings when we entered the borders, and Johnny was more vigilant than before. And me…, I am feeling like my home is now just a poor memory, but with friendly people in it. Seeing the Packhouse… Beautiful as always, but not being my home anymore.

I still remember when I played and where I did it, when the pack members may train being tougher. Bluestone is the greater and bigger pack, after all, I know, with or without Alpha Mathias. This pack is enough to protect the people that cannot do it themselves.
