Chapter 2.

894 Words
Three days later… For three gruelling, exhausting and hot days I’ve been in wolf form running as far from the Crescent Wolf Pack. It has been torturous, I ran out food and water after the first day. I really should’ve made a better plan. My hearing picks up a near by stream just a bit deeper into the woods so I hurriedly make my way towards it. After lapping up as much water as I can I start to run again. ‘We won’t make it much further without a little bit of rest and food’ Aurora my wolf tiredly says to me. ‘It is not safe to stay here what if rogues or other pack wolves see us?’ ‘Well then we would be dead either way, I just need some rest then we can go I promise’ ‘fine but just for a little while’. I find the most sheltered tree around and get comfortable underneath it, silently wondering why I was not good enough to be with my mate. Without realising I dropped into a dreamless sleep. I jump out of my sleep with a yelp noticing i am being boxed in by four huge wolfs snarling menacingly at me. Startled and very confused I crouch down low preparing myself for an attack, my ears peel back and my talons raised. A slight change of wind from the right informs me one the wolves specifically the auburn, medium sized wolf is pouncing attempting an attack. Just before he can reach me I swerve underneath him to where he left an opening. He goes crashing into the dark brown coloured wolf and I take the opportunity to escape while they look stupefied. Unfortunately for me, the other two wolves one lightly blonde coloured and one mousey brown furred are on my tail as soon as I’m on the move. Their viscous jaw snapping and snarling heard from right behind me but luckily some of my energy restored I have half my full speed back which is more than enough to outrun these fools. I pick up my speed running through the vast Forrest having no idea which direction I’m going in. Whilst running I sense them further back meaning I’ve successfully out paced them so I decided to confuse them further. I run around some of the clearing in circles running my fur against the trees and bushes. After rolling around in the mud to cut my scent trail off here I sprint to where I can hear a nearby stream. Deciding I’ve pushed my luck enough and can practically hear them running in all directions I set up with fake trails I jump into the river washing away the remaining mud and rest of my lingering scent. Just as the current carries me away I hear the defeated yet infuriated howls echo all around the Forrest. Throughout my dreams I was haunted by them grey eyes. It seemed they were everywhere just watching me, but strangely I didn’t feel creeped out or attacked. More so I felt watched over and even sensed a little bit of frustration from the mysterious stranger. Anonymous POV: Another restless night of sleep plagued by visions of a beautiful brown haired, green eyed girl. I can’t seem to get them out of my head. Dark green circles ring the outside leading into a soft warm Forrest green. But deep in the middle just around the irises is an orange making even the warm tones of autumn look dull. The fiery orange burns just as deep as the flames that burst out of my hands as I try to alleviate some of this pent up frustration. For days now the outskirts of the werewolf kingdom have been being attacked. Not serious attacks but small ones that seem to go unnoticed as if they weren’t trying to actually cause harm just get a feel for the security and how they packs function. Whoever or whatever it is behind these attacks aren’t stupid, they’re being precise and calculated. I call in my oldest and most trusted friend, marko. ‘We need to organise a meeting regarding all the packs, we need as much information as early as possible on these attacks’. ‘They could just be useless rogues trying to provoke them out in to the unclaimed territory, could that be a possibility as just yesterday one of the packs claimed a rogue had escaped their territory?’ He replies just as deep in thought as I am. ‘Very well could be we will up our securities just Incase, but there seems to be a pattern here going unnoticed, just to be sure we need to gather all information and strengthen all the packs. We will start with the packs on the outskirts first as they’re most vulnerable’. ‘Very well, this makes sense and wouldn’t hurt to strengthen our packs either way. I’ll get right on it’ marko replies. As he leaves the training room I get right back to raging and letting all my frustration out on the fireproof dummies. Not even the inflammable materials can resist burning to crisp from my flames at this moment. I don’t understand why this mystery girl keeps popping up. I feel as if though we are connected but I’ve never met anyone of such. Surely I would remember her.
