CHAPTER 9

Jo's POV

So it's been three days since I got the proposal from Black industries and it's been three days since I last saw him. I am usually a nervous wreck when something makes me nervous or maybe someone and it's hard for me to control it so I either run or just hide away for a while until I'm over it and brave enough to face the person or thing because I'll end up blurting out something stupid or any of my secret and that's not something I'd want to do.

My dad suggested that I stay with them since I interact with very few people there. I had to call Daimen and lie about going outside town cause there was a family emergency. I actually said it so fast and hang up before he could ask any questions. I kept my phone away from me so I can avoid talking to people directly. I spent my time in my parents mansion either in my room ,my study or the kitchen going for some food. Among the workers I had one friend who was like a second mother to me ,she took care of me when my mum was busy with her job,she helped me during this nervous breakdowns but unlucky me she was on leave for the next month and I actually her so much.

So today was the day I was going back to the real world no more hiding in my parents mansion for now that is. The nervous wreck wasn't over but I could control it now after all the speeches from my mother telling me this was my opportunity to act like you are also interested in finding the CEO act like them be like them were her exact words and they can't get out of my mind and that made me able to accept the deal with Black .

I'm in my dad's car staring at the window as we pass through that highway. I never come with my car to this place because there are paparazzi everywhere. He dropped me off at an alley near the office parking lot so I headed to the building to find my usual friends having a chat.

"Hi Jo I haven't seen you in a while what happened?"Matt asked with concern in his eyes just like Tom's eyes. "Nothing much just a family emergency,"I said with my usual smile."I hope that they are okay and what happened to your phone we tried to call you but you didn't answer,"I shrugged at Tom's question"just didn't feel like having it,"they nodded"ok talk later guys still have alot of work to do," they waved as I walked away. I really like those two guards they are actually best friends and they know how to mind their businesses cause they know almost every thing about me but not even once they asked about my job , I'm sure they sometimes wonder what I do in this building but they never asked they are really good people.

I reached my office and the first thing I did was to check my phone. I left it in the office so I could have some few days of peace. I was surprised to see that Daimen had contacted me more than anyone these past few days mostly because the other guys knew where I was but I didn't expect to get 50 missed calls and 20 voicemails from him . We don't even know each other that much and he is already doing this or maybe he just needed my help cause people were asking or maybe he cares about me ...naah I guess it's just the paparazzi wondering where I was and he needed me for some publicity show off...the thought kept bugging my mind from one positive thought to negative until I decided to just call him during the day.

I've been working for some time and I'm becoming a bit hungry I didn't have a heavy breakfast and it was almost four o'clock so I missed lunch that's why I was this hungry. By this time alot of people had left the building so I could just leave anyway I can finish the rest of the work at home so I left.

I was halfway through my chicken and fries at the McDonald's down town when I felt someone staring at me but I just ignored the feeling and continued digging in my chicken but then I stopped when I felt a hand on my shoulder and I stiffened as my thoughts went wild.'oh s**t who might this be a kidnapper trying to take me because he thinks I look too young to be alone' 'that can't happen I'm in a place with people ' 'but who is holding my shou...'my thought were interrupted by a familiar voice that I could recognise from anywhere" hey when did you come back?" I relaxed my body realising it's really him ,I opened my mouth to answer but I couldn't because he asked another question"why didn't you call me when you got back"I tried again to answer but again "Why haven't you been answering my call,"then again I was trying to reply "what happened to.." "can you just shut up and let me talk first "I said annoyed with all the questions and he looked shocked for a while but he hid his expression and sat down .

"Soo as I was trying to say, I got back today and I was thinking of calling you but I've been a bit busy and finally I haven't been answering your calls because I left my phone at work and I thought I had lost it," I answered and he just nodded "so how are you and your family," he asked his expression unreadable "what?"I answered confused not knowing what he was talking about "you said you had a family emergency so how is your family,"his words hit me back to reality ooh s**t I forgot I told him that . Make a stupid excuse of some family emergency"uum yes my aunt was just had a child so I promised to visit,"ok that was a stupid idea what if he asks me if he could visit the baby and as far as I know no one has a baby in the family shoot "but why did you sound tensed up when I talked to you,"ooh noo do he noticed it " umm nothing ," I answered coolly"so what are you doing at McDonald's I thought you are the fancy restaurants guy"I asked changing the subject so I could avoid the questions "can't a rich guy love his chicken wings,"he answered and I laughed "the real reason"he laughed too"ok I was just passing and I saw someone eating as greedy as you and I knew it was you ,"it was nice how we were getting along " hey! I don't eat greedily," I said taking a big bite off my chicken and we both laughed. I didn't know we could get along this fast and that he is fun to talk to. Hope he's like this for these few months and my work will be easier as a pretend girlfriend..
