I woke up with the most terrible headache, ever. My head was throbbing from last night, and I stayed in bed all morning skipping lunch and breakfast, I wanted to eat, really bad but I just couldn't get myself to stand up without wanting to lie down again.
It was almost 2 pm and my flight was at 3:30 and I had to force myself to take a cold shower to reduce migraine pain, it helped a bit. Olivia already went to the airport a few hours ago as she has a different destination than I am. She quickly said goodbye to me after trying to get me out of my misery.
Hell, I hate drinking sometimes.
I couldn't remember anything last night, but I do remember kissing a guy, I think it was only kissing, right?
I don't think I went that far, anyway, I wore my comfiest outfit that I prepared, grey sweatpants and a hoodie with a tank top underneath. It doesn't matter what I'm wearing because I'm not impressing the whole terminal.
I checked if I brought my essentials to make sure I didn't leave anything behind because if I left a damn important thing, I swear I'd fly back here.
I locked my door and the apartment door after checking if I turned off all the electricity before my Uber picked me up, I listened to music from my headphones all the way to the airport feeling heavy all over.

The flight attendant just announced our arrival and I have never been so excited to come home, I mean I'm excited to lie down all day after exhausting months at University, and I'm craving coffee.
My mom was supposed to pick me up from the airport with her boyfriend and I can't wait to meet him.
I looked around for my mom as I exited through the glass doors, seeing some people waiting for their other families too. It felt great being home now, at least I'm close to my childhood memories, I grew up here and everywhere I go, reminds me of something.
I held onto my luggage as I continued walking until I saw a huge sign that said 'Welcome back Issa!' I held back my smile as I spotted my mom from the crowd, I ran to her and hugged her tightly, oh god I miss her smell. The motherly scent.
"Jeez mom, you didn't have to do that." I chuckled seeing the man behind her waiting for me to notice him.
"I missed you so much, honey! Home didn't feel like home without you anymore." she wiped a tear from her cheek.
"I'm here now Mom, don't exaggerate too much." I joke.
"Well?" I gestured to the man behind her as she grabbed the man's hand and let him step forward.
"This is David, my fiance." She says with happiness in her voice.
It has been so long since I last saw my mother smile this big, my father f****d up our family after cheating on Mom years ago, and I'm very happy for her, truly. If this is what she wants then I will let her be happy again. But I swear if he ever hurts her.
"That's great mom! I've never seen you smile this big before and I think it's good for you." I told her the truth.
"Aww baby. I thought you wouldn't be okay with it." she pulled me back into a hug.
"It's okay Mother, if it makes you happy then I am too," I mumbled.
"I've heard so much about you, it's a pleasure to finally meet you, Isabella." David held out his hand.
I ignored his hand in the air and hugged him instead. "Thank you," I whispered.
We pulled away and saw Mom crying. "Why are you crying, mom?" I placed my hands on her shoulders and wiped the tears that fell from her eyes
"It's tears of joy, don't mind me." she laughed.
Me and David laughed with her as we went for a group hug. At least I'd have someone to call Dad right? But I think I'll wait for a little bit longer before calling him that.
We arrived at the parking lot and my eyes almost bulged out of my sockets. "Since when can we afford a Range Rover?" I gasped.
David chuckled."That isn't mine." my mom spoke.
"well technically, that's also yours now since we're getting married." David placed his arm around Mom's shoulders.
"So you're richy rich?" I asked shocked and he nodded grinning.
Well, wow. I mean we're not poor we're just between poor and rich, I had to work hard to get a scholarship and drive in an old Toyota car that my mom lent me, I'm not complaining I like my life the way it is, but sometimes life can be hard, and sometimes we struggle financially.
But we always find a way to solve it. Like me, I sold some of my clothes and got myself a temporary job last summer. My mom also sold her antiques for a good price.
I climb into the backseat and feel the leather seat very comfortable underneath me.
David started driving as I listened to music on my headphones, feeling great to finally be home.
"Oh, by the way, Issa?" she turned towards me. I raised my eyebrows in confusion and positioned my headphones on the side.
"Yeah?" I asked.
My mother smiled excitedly. "Well since He and I are getting married and of course he's gonna be your stepfather. We are gonna move in together." She says the last sentence in a slow tone waiting for my reaction.
"That's great." I smiled at her. I don't know what to say to her, but I'm sure I am okay with everything she wants. I can't do anything about it since there's nothing wrong with it plus my dad could be married right now so why can't she?
"Well, you don't have to unpack when we get home, I just need help boxing some of my things so we can move in tomorrow." she forced a smile at me afraid I might not agree.
"Mom, please don't be scared that I might not like the idea, The truth is I'm just really tired right now and I am truly happy for you guys, it's nice to have someone that could make you happy and so you don't have to worry about me all the time." I leaned and kissed her cheek. "sorry if I made you think otherwise," I said to her.
"Thank you Isabella for letting me in." He says, his eyes still focused on the long road.
"I'm so lucky to have a daughter like you. Oh did I mention you're a big sister now?" She said making me choke on my saliva.
"Oh not like that, I'm not pregnant yet honey," She laughs. "I meant David has a son and a daughter, I'm sure you guys will get alone just fine." I nodded once again.

We arrived and I got to see my room once again, and it still looks the same which I'm glad Mom didn't touch my things. The view from my window isn't that special, but you get to see the neighbor's house and that is where Lianne lives, my old friend, they moved in when I was 12 I think. She must be visiting also because she went to a different college than me, we drifted apart and never got to talk because of what happened during our senior high.
I don't like talking about it. Looking back to our old memories, we lost each other's trust.
That's when I saw a woman walk by the window. That must be her mom Adrianna. I closed my curtains sighing and placed my things on top of my single bed.
I went down to help Mom pack some of her important things. And we were already laughing as we talked about the memories that happened in this house.
"Do you remember when you ran around the living room half-naked because you didn't want to wear the shirt that has snow white in it because preferred the Rapunzel one?" My mom bursts.
"That was embarrassing Mom," I told her as I lifted her favorite cups into the box.
"I don't think you remember this because you were just 3 back then and you wouldn't let me put you in a diaper, so you ran away from me and tripped, that was the first time your tooth fell out." I laughed trying to stop her from spilling more embarrassing moments.
"Please stop Mom." I covered my face, David was cooking in the next room and he might hear these.
"What about you mom, when you tried Zumba by yourself and failed, you lay down on the floor catching your breath and I jumped at your belly." I cracked up.
"How could you say that, I did very well with my flexible body." She nudges my shoulders.
"Whatever you say." I dragged the Y.
David peeked from the door and said that dinner was ready and we talked about more embarrassing things on the table and I've never laughed harder.
Maybe, this will work.
