Rylee’s POV:
As soon as Kyle and I made it back home, we were greeted by a grinning Cassandra waiting on our doorstep.
“Well, there’s the lovely couple now. How was your trip, hmmm?”
Her sudden kindness stunned me, leaving my brain stumbling for words to respond. Kyle must have noticed the astonishment on my face, and thankfully, he stepped in for me.
“It was very nice mother. The ceremony was beautiful, and everyone had a wonderful time. How were things here while we were gone?”
“Everything was perfectly fine here. Your father and I handled a few small tasks, so you needn’t worry about a thing.”
