Medora We were having brunch at a diner—Yellow, Millie, Reign, and me. I still hadn’t given Millie an answer to her ultimatum. It wasn’t her I was afraid of saying no to—it was Reign. The boy who looked at me as his last hope. He already hated me enough; I didn’t want to make it worse. I took a sip of my milkshake, laughing absentmindedly at whatever Yellow and Millie were giggling about. “We’re laughing at you,” Yellow said, biting into her sandwich. “What? Why?” I eyed them both suspiciously. “Shagging a hot, rich nineteen-year-old. C’mon, Med, it’s impossible to ignore,” Yellow quipped, smirking. Panic gripped me. My hand shot out to cover Reign’s ears. “I know you’re proud of yourself for figuring it out,” I hissed, “but can we not talk about this while Reign’s here?” Millie win
