Poor Madison

I woke up the next day in my own bed. Bea was walking around the room getting things ready, and a note was beside my bed on a silver tray. On that tray was also a cup of hot tea, something to eat and pain killers. I was thankful to him for that. My body was in fact hurting. I was sore in places I had never been swore before. Then again, I wasn't used to being in someone's bed for hours, let alone pleasured for that long. Marcus lasted thiry minutes at the longest and I almost always had to finish myself off after un-tying myself from the bed. I sat up slowly, taking the painkillers and sipping on the tea. I ate a few bites of scone and stood up once the pain killers kicked in. "Well, someone had fun night." Bea smiled at me as I walked past her to enter the bathroom. I needed a shower after last night. I wanted to remember every place Cassius had touched me and caressed me with every drop of water that touched me. I only smiled at her, closed the bathroom door on her. I turned on the shower and got in once it was scolding. Defenetly wouldn't be having any sort of shared shower. I liked it hotter then hell. Or so my father had said since I was a child. I closed my eyes and fell into a day dream. The streaming of water making me hurt in such a good way. I was remembering everything he did when Bea knocked on the door and broke me from my day dream. Sighing I peaked my head out as she opened the door. "What is it?" I asked and she looked down at her feet. "Your father, he just called the house. Apparently something has happened with your step-sister." Bea didn't like interupting me, we both knew this, espially about my family. I only sighed softly and looked at my shower. "Tell them I will be there shortly. I need to...get ready." Bea nodded and I dipped back into my shower. Instead of enjoying it, I ran through the motions and got out in fifteen minutes. Bea and I rushed through our routine of doing my hair, makeup and getting dressed before I pulled out the note on the tray to read it while I left. 'Elena, I had to attend to some business, so I put you back into your room. Take the pain killers and rest today. I hope we can attempt that dinner again. With Love, Cassius' That was so like him. Short, sweet, and without real emotion. Not that I needed him to show it. After last night, I was certain I was making the right choice in man. I grabbed my purse, shoved the note inside and grabbed my keys. My phone began to ring, PI, appeared on the screen. I was quick to pick it up and answer while I ran for my car. My father had been texting me for the last thirty minutes to get my attention. I had ignored him for that long as well. "Ms. Edgington? I have some news for you." The man said over the phone and I attached him to my blue tooth, pulling out of the driveway of Yearling manor. "What have you found out?" I asked, paying more attention to the roads than to him as he rattled on about things I already knew. "Also, I found this obituary for Mrs. Edgington's late husband. It is dated for two days before your father married her. Also, there is a police report that was filed in Atlanta, and she was the main suspect in his death. She fled before they could conclusively rule her out. The case was deemed cold, but many still think she was the one who killed him, since she had bankrupted him. There are even some that think it was actually her son who did the killing for her. This was her second husband, and the second to die in a very suspicious way." That was interesting. I slowed down to listen to him better without wrecking my car. "As for Ms. Madison Rowlins, there is a list of charges against her in three states. She has had four abortions in the last year alone, including one two weeks ago. And...oh yes, this. She's been stealing money out of your father's bank account for the last few years. Incraments of a million to five million but nothing so major for the bank to catch it until I did my investigating. Should I keep digging?" "Yes, send me everything you have. Send it to Cassius' office, in fact. I can't risk anyone spilling this before I get the chance to. And keep me up to date on anything else you find. I have to go." I clicked off the call and pulled into my family home. There were several camera crews outside, and the second I stepped out, cameras flashed and people called for me. I waved them off, and ran inside the house. Everyone, Marcus included, was standing at the main entrance arguing. "What the hell is going on?" "Did you cause this?" Madison screamed, shoving Marcus at me. He was a mess, purple and blue and dried blood still in his hair. I stifled a laugh and looked over at Madison with a shrug. "Marcus said you and Cassius came into his house unprovoked and beat him!" "Oh, was that before or after he mentioned that he had kidnapped me and tried to have me killed, so Madison could become heir?" I folded my arms over my chest, looking at my father. He sighed heavily and put up his hands. "We are not going to go through this again, Elena. Your sister doesn't want to kill you. None of us do. So what really happened?" He looked at me, no he glared at me and I laughed softly. "I figured you wouldn't believe me." I pulled out my phone, putting my hand to quiet them when they tried to speak. A few seconds later, Cassius' voice came over the phone with a very deep, unhappy hello. "Hello my love, sorry to bother you while you are doing very important work, but I have my family here. They don't believe me. Can you tell them what happened last night? You know before what we did at home?" "You mean when Marcus had you kidnapped, and I had to find you, or when I beat his ass while his assassin was trying to murder you upstairs? Or is it when the police came and arrested everyone?" Cassius' nochellant tone put everyone on edge. "Or all of the above?" "I think that about covers it. Thank you, Cassius. Have a great day. I will stop by with some wedding plans before we meet for dinner. Bye." I hung up first and looked at everyone. Marcus looked nervous, as did Madison, as everyone turned to them. They shared a look before Madison bent over holding her stomach. I rolled my eyes as they all screamed and ran for her, asking if she was okay. "Look what she's done to my daughter? She's pregnant you b***h! How dare you stress her out! This is how much Elena loves her family. She's going to let your granddaughter or grandson die!" Gwen screamed, pointing out at me. I felt rage in my veins, and before I knew it I slapped her so hard she fell to the ground. "I have done nothing but treat you all like family. You treated me like a slave. I let everything go because daddy loved you. Guess what, that sweet little girl you all bullied is gone. Daddy, I love you, but I disown them as my family. My mother died, and the only grandchild he will have is the one that Cassius and I will have. Oh, by the way... Madison isn't pregnant anymore. She had an abortion two weeks ago. She's lying. But believe her if you wish. I have a wedding to plan." I turned on my heels, ignored my dad calling for him, and walked out of the house. I stopped at the car and looked at the popparazi. Before thinking better of myself, I walked over to them and smiled brightly. "Hello, yes, calm down. Thank you." I smiled at them, ignoring the flashing of cameras. "I won't talk about what is happening inside, that is none of my business. What is my business is my wedding to Cassius Yearling. If you want a real story, this is the one you want to cover. So I am formally inviting every news and magazine station to attend. As of this morning, my wedding planner was able to secure a castle just north of Denver for our venue. A real modern-day fairytale is about to take place. It is a masked ball reception. So come prepared to dance, and who knows maybe there will be another announcement for you all that day." "Ms. Edgington!" They called after me, but I turned and headed back to the car. Whatever possessed me to do that was beyond my understanding. I just got into the car and called Tomas. He answered on the second ring, but before he could even get out his greeting I blurted out, "I need you to secure Knox Castle for the wedding...like now..."
