Sora's POV
The next month, the house feels frozen over.
We try not to talk to each other. I keep the secret pressed down. After seven years of swallowing things, one more doesn't make a difference.
I never knock on his study door again.
I think he'll notice my silence.
Nothing happens.
Ethan gets colder. He comes home less than ever. He even starts sleeping in the lounge of the Pack office building.
I hold the secret through the whole month.
Ian checks me every week. The numbers are bad. But my baby is still here.
I count the days in my head. Seven weeks. Eight weeks. Just get through this stretch.
When the Beta calls, it's already the end of the month.
The medical station at the Pack's northern border needs Luna to help with quarterly checkup records.
