Sora's POV
They call the senior staff together three days later. Someone from royal command is going to address us. That's all we're told.
I stand at the back, in my coat, mask down for once. This isn't a working room. Officers up front. Medical command. The people who ran this war, gathered to hear the truth of it.
Then she walks in.
The whole room drops. Officers, commanders, everyone, folding into a bow at once. It takes me a full second to understand why.
It's Selene.
The woman who pulled me out of the fire. Who put me in this coat. Who gave me the name Lunaris and set me on this front and let me disappear into it. I always knew she had power. I never knew the size of it. I thought she was some highborn patron with a long reach and a kind streak.
