Chapter 18 Ethan’s POV The second she turns toward the stairs, my wolf explodes inside my chest. You f*****g i***t! Be honest with yourself for once! It roars so loud I feel it in my ribs. This is not protest. This is not begging. This is pure rage. It screams that she is really leaving. That I am too stupid to see it. I see it. This is not one of her moods. This time it is different. When she buttoned her coat, I noticed her ring finger. Bare. Only a pale mark where the wedding band used to be. She is really going to leave. Something heavy sinks inside my chest. It drops to a place I do not recognize. I will never divorce her. The thought hits me hard. I freeze for a second. I have never let myself think that way. For seven years I told myself this marriage was a deal. A duty.
