Yuki's POV
I went to Daddy's tent because I didn't understand.
At dinner, I told him everything. About the raid. About which way Lyra's hands went when she grabbed my shoulders. About the medic pulling me back. He listened to all of it. I watched his face while I said it, and I saw it land. He heard me. He believed me. At the end he said okay, you're safe now, and his voice wasn't smooth anymore, it was rough, like the truth had scraped it on the way in.
So I don't understand.
If he heard me. If he believed me. Then why did he go and find me today and say what he said?
That's why I went to his tent. Not to tell him again. He already knows. I went to ask him why knowing didn't change anything.
