Sora’s POV
I wake up before dawn.
I lie still on the bed. Ethan returned to the master bedroom before sunrise. He left me alone. His scent covers the sheets. It covers my body too.
I push myself up and go to the bathroom. I turn the shower to the hottest setting.
I let the scalding water burn my neck, slide over my shoulders, then run across the bite marks on my chest. Before I dry myself, I stop in front of the mirror. The fresh bruise below my collarbone. The new bite mark. I stare at them for a few seconds.
Then I turn away. I do not let myself look again.
I get dressed, fix my appearance, and take out the spare phone I have never used inside the Packhouse.
The contact with only the moon symbol appears. I type:
