Chapter 28
Sora’s pov
Before Ian can answer, we hear a car pulling up outside.
We both look up.
Through the floor-to-ceiling window, Ethan's car is parked in the Packhouse front yard.
He gets out. Walks around to the passenger side. Reaches in to open the door for Lyra.
Lyra steps out. Her hand slides naturally into the one he's holding out.
I don't feel anything anymore.
Seven years. He never once opened a car door for me.
Ethan walks in. His eyes go straight past the entryway and land on me. Then he sees Ian. His face drops instantly.
He strides over. He pushes the door open so hard it hits the wall.
"What are you doing here?"
Ian doesn't move from the cabinet. His hands stay in his pockets. He doesn't even shift his stance.
"Visiting a friend." He says it flat. Almost cold.
