Midnight

Chapter 2

It was easy for Maisie to hide the truth form her mum. Her parents never married and hated each other they just didn’t go together as a couple and so her mum never contacts her father and her father hardly went into town so no one will suspect a thing.

Maisie is only a nineteen year old young lady who has had a troubled past with drinking oh a lot of alcohol and drinking. She had so much love for her father she adored him but she did what she had to do for Aaron and her future.

Her mother was in the garden as usual picking up flowers and styling her garden out. Maisie's mother; Amber Ray Rhodes was a thirty five year old primary school teacher/ gardener and committed house wife. Her life had been so hard even before she had Maisie her parents had left her in a children’s care home where she met Maisie father; John Smith. Maisie was born at at time when life was just beginning for Amber she had no clue what raising a child meant. However, as soon as Maisie was born her father got a job as a salesman and made just enough to support both Amber and Maisie.

After a few years of living together Amber and John separated and John went to live with his grandfather who is only discovered a few years after Maisie was born.

In present time Maisie ran into the garden where mum was feeding the plants water. “MUM.” She shouted grabbing her mum in a huge warm embrace.

Maisie’s mother was aware of Aaron, however, she has never met him before. Maisie told her mother everything about how Aaron was upsetting her by not letting her know about his family more. “Oh sweetie, men are complicated trust me. Me and your father were stupid to ever think we would work as a couple he almost asked me to marry him and I am so glad we never went to that stage. About you father is he OK and really needed to discuss with him about your living arrangements I want you to move back here honey.”

Maisie felt nervous speaking about her father as she well enough knew that her father was buried in the forest a few miles away from the actual town. “Oh mum I will have a word with him I know how much you hate talking to him ha-ha.” She said nervously.

“Fine I want you to move back tomorrow and bring Aaron over for dinner I really need to meet him. He is treating well isn't he and what does your father think of him sweetie.”

Maisie laughed as she thought of Aaron her true love but then she could not stop thinking about how he might be hiding something from her. She felt hurt from him this morning not explaining about his mother and sister.

“Mum, he is brilliant, he loves me and he takes such good care of him. And dad wow dad loves him mum.”
