Betrayal
After the tour of the house Roth took her outside and showed her the car they had provided for her. He pointed to some local maps on the front seat and handed her the keys to the car and the house. With that he wished her good luck and went inside. For the remainder of the day Gail stayed away from the Roths in accordance with Valerie’s wishes. She took a drive to the mall and looked around. There were a few restaurants. She would probably eat her lunch and dinner there on weekends. She found the bookstore that Valerie had mentioned and spent a little time browsing.
