Chapter 13 - Dis

1885 Words
Dis I stood on my balcony enjoying the view. Yes, it is the inside of a volcano and covered in lava and flames. But I loved it, and it was mine. All of it is mine. Basically, the center of the earth belongs to me. This is where evilness comes when it leaves its physical body. It comes back home to heat the core of the earth until I decide to use it again. The souls basically burn until I decide when they're done. And I love my job. I've been called many names. Hades, Pluto, Orcus, Devil. Some call me the God of the underworld, others the King. It all depends on the century and location. I prefer Dis. It's simple. And when you think about it, there are a lot of negative words that contain Dis. Dislocate, disembowel, discipline, etc. This thought brings a smile to my face. Until I immediately started thinking of her, and then my smile was replaced with a twitching snarl as I squinted my eyes in irritation. She was born almost seventeen years ago to this day. I could feel the energy radiate from her even before she entered this world. And I wanted it. She was powerful even as an infant. Very few werewolves are strong enough to be True Borns. In other words, they're physically and mentally superior to such a degree that they're able to be born with a wolf. The fact that they're conceived and born together means the human half has to be strong enough to accept the wolf half in utero. They form a bond that can't ever be severed and their strength is undeniable. They are often compared to lycans. Many say they're a step under them. I, personally, think they're better than lycans. But that's because many think lycans are superior. Why? Because werewolves are two entities sharing a physical vessel, while mentally they are separate. Whatever physical form they're in, whether human or wolf, their counterpart is in the background. Merely sitting along for the ride if you will. Because of this, if they stay in their human form for too long, their wolf becomes weak. But if they stay in their wolf form for too long, they'll become feral. To shift, they can either mentally fight for control of the other's physical form, shifting if they win. Or the other one can give it up willingly, allowing the shift to happen. If they don't have a good bond with each other, they can also become crazed or feral during a full moon, as the full moon is when a wolf is mentally at its strongest. The wolf will completely take over, turning rogue, and making their human have a psychotic break. That's why weaker werewolves choose not to shift during the full moon. They don't want to risk going crazed. Their king is Fenrir, the Great Wolf King. An extra large puppy that needs to be hit with a rolled up newspaper. He's nothing but an annoying mutt. Lycans, however, are one in the same, not separate. They are humans that change into humanoid wolves. Similar to werewolves, if they decide to stay in their wolf-like state for too long, then they also risk turning feral and crazed. Their ability to control both forms is why they're seen as superior, and that's why they're named after their king and first of their kind, Lycaon. I've tried to get him on my side, but that's a story for another day. Despite having kings, or Gods if you will, they're all ruled by their Head Queen. Selene, the Moon Goddess. That fickle woman has a way of mixing things up, and usually it's not in my favor. Now, back to true borns. Being conceived together and having such a unique bond means that they can share everything. They can be human, wolf, or any combination of the two. Yes, even Lycanesque. The human can call for the wolf in physical, mental, or emotional need. Allowing the wolf to completely take over the human form. And the human can take over the wolf form without shifting back. Or they can share both physical forms simultaneously. Sure, they can get in pissing matches with each other, where the wolf wants something bad enough that it fights for control and wins, but that's just the nature of the beast. True borns are always at their peak, so the moon phases don't affect them at all. And there's no risk of them staying in one state for too long and either becoming weak or feral. But this isn't what the big hoopla is about this girl. I don't want her simply because she's a true born. No, if that were the case, I could easily take any other true born that exists, and with a lot more ease. I want her because she's an elemental true born. She is at one with nature on a physical and emotional level. Earth, air, fire, water .... and spirit. She is the connection to all supernatural kind because of this. Not only that, but she will be the unison for the spiritual and physical worlds. The wiccans have their magical ways with nature, and this girl has their gift. Imagine what I could do with that power. I would be able to control anything and everything. The world would be at my beck and call. I tried to get her once when she was an infant, and I almost had her. Peter did a great job at infiltrating the Gypsy Moon pack. A pathetic pack of open-minded werewolves that willingly took in other species that were mated to a wolf. Not all packs were willing to keep their members whose mates were of a different species. It didn't matter if it were fate or chosen. If said member didn't reject their mate, they were kicked out of their pack. They had a choice. To become rouges or find refuge in another pack. Gypsy Moon was often their refuge. Peter was always my greatest follower. Perfect in every way. When he was killed for the things he had done many years ago I knew that I could find use for him eventually. So I held onto his soul until I needed it. He fit perfectly for this task. When I felt the power that radiated from the fetus in the womb, I brought Peter back to life to find it. And what a remarkable job he did. He searched the world for months until he located the specific pack. Devoting his re-born life to his given job. Peter had those pack members believing that he was their true Alpha. A beautiful combination of his acting skills along with the magic from his belt. They all believed that John, Giselle, and their ranking members were mind-controlling dark faeries that were there only to take over their pack and use it for evilness. Peter was perfect. His only failure was not realizing the female Beta was a third fairy, witch, and werewolf. That cunning who.re managed to clone herself long enough to escape with the infant. Then she came back and burned everything and everyone to the ground. Leaving no one who might be able to be controlled for information. The fu.cking cu.nt. Peter was the only survivor, for obvious reasons. He hadn't been the same since that night, but he still stands by my side, willing to serve. "Sir, the numbers on our side continue to grow. It was a genius idea to go to all of the outcasts. Their hatred is pure and will be useful." Peter flatly said as he walked to me, standing at attention on my left side. "At ease, Peter." He quickly complied. "The jaded supernatural will blend perfectly with my demons. Are we any closer to finding her?" I was growing impatient. We had her in our reach just to have everything go up in flames. Literally. Peter nodded. "I think we are. We have word of an outcast girl living with humans that sometimes visits werewolf territory." "Where? Have you heard of a specific location?" We have been in hiding since the burning of Gypsy Moon, for the most part. Peter would talk to rogues, outcasts, run aways and the sort to get what information he could, along with getting whomever he could on our side. It took forever to do it himself, but it wasn't the time to send demons to help. Plus, being hidden didn't really matter, since I couldn't feel her energy anyway. I could send every demon under my control out looking for her, I could have stood next to her myself, and none of us would have known. Whoever was helping hide her was extremely gifted. And they were pissing me the f***k off. "As of right now, we don't have any concrete information on a location, Sir. It's all just hearsay. It seems like every location we visit has the same story. But it is the most consistent information we've come across in a long time." Peter's voice was monotone. I sighed and pinched the bridge of my nose. I know she is still alive. Every now and then, I can feel small bursts of energy. But they're never big enough to alert me to a general area. They're more like a smack to my face, reminding me of the failure from years ago. But I can turn the failed attempt around for the better. "We need to find her before she finds and accepts her fated mate. She's almost of age now, which means she'll be able to be my Queen." I crossed my arms behind my back as I started slowly pacing while I was thinking. Peter furrowed his eyebrows. "Your Queen, Sir?" he questioned me, confused by what I said. "Yes, my fu.cking Queen! Did I fu.cking stutter?!?" I swear to, well, myself that I am surrounded by imbeciles. Even my right-hand man is a fu.cking moron! "No, Sir. I just assumed you still wanted to drain her of her energy and life force for yourself. I didn't mean any disrespect, Sir." He quickly tried to make the situation better. I can't blame him for his ignorance on the matter, but it was no excuse. "If I could be that powerful, having all of that energy for myself, think of how powerful I could be with her standing beside me as my Queen, and producing my children. Maybe you fu.cking up all of those years ago was actually a good thing. We just have to get to her in time." She doesn't even have to be my Queen willingly. With her by my side down here, I would be able to tap into that energy whenever I wanted. In more ways than one. And with the children we'd produce together, we'd be able to take over far more than I can even imagine. They could kill me and my offspring would still go on. Peter stood back at attention. "Sir, yes sir!" He saluted me and left, heading out to continue on with his search. "I think it's almost time that I make an appearance and start handling things myself." I muttered to myself. I just needed to know where to go first.
