EVELYN’S POV
The air felt stiff and for a minute I froze, my mind distant as his eyes locked on mine. Pulling away from him, I felt his hand on mine, putting my palm back on his chest
“Let’s stay this way” he mumbled softly “Even if it’s for a little while”
I felt the butterflies form in my stomach, not a hard knot of fear.
“But you need to have dinner and head home” I responded, withdrawing from his space.
Averting his eyes completely “The noodles’ are getting cold” I stated, taking my bowl of food.
“Yes ma’am” he chuckled softly, undoing the apron and putting the hoop through the hanger and taking his meal almost immediately.
We ate in silence as I did my best to avoid his questions, eyes and compliments
"You’re done eating now, it’s time to go home” I stated the moment he put the empty bowl on the table.
I gestured that he hand his plate over to me and when he did, his finger grazed mine slightly but I stayed calm, not letting his touch cause a scene
“Why are you so obsessed with sending me home?” He asked subtly, a smile on his face.
“For starters, it’s almost nine pm, also the dorm will be locked soon enough” I responded, gesturing to the wall clock which I hadn’t noticed the time on it before now.
“It’s almost ten pm?!” I panicked, my eyes widened with shock
I rushed to the kitchen, dropped the plates into the sink, running my fingers through my hair. The gates would be closed by now, or wouldn’t it?
“What happened?” He questioned as I paced back and forth, my heart racing
I could not let him stay here, we had class tomorrow, and after that it’s the weekend. I’ll have to tutor Chloe, he can’t stay here.
“You can’t stay here” I stated “Th..the gates wouldn’t be locked yet..would they?” I mumbled, taking his wrist and heading out the door.
But then I stopped in my tracks, the hall might be filled with women, women who don’t think a man would be around here by this time
"No..no, no, no” I mumbled, almost biting my lip.
“Can you calm down?” He asked softly, staring down at me, his wrist around my arm
“I can just stay here” he searched my eyes
“Or you don’t trust me enough to let me stay?” He asked gently and for a second I pondered about his question.
It wasn’t that I couldn’t trust him, the problem was that I just might not be able to control myself.
“No..I mean yes..Ughh!” I exclaimed
“Stop fussing about it” he chuckled “I’ll sleep out here” he pointed to the couch in the living room “And you can go to your room, there’s nothing to worry about miss Reeds” he assured me, hands on my shoulders and a childish smile on his lips.
“Alright..but I’ll get you some pillows and a blanket” I said
I rushed into the room, heading straight for some pillows in my bedroom.
But just when I took the pillows back to the living room, he laid on the couch, his eyes closed, his breath steady and his body curled in the perfect way.
I crouched down to meet his face, stretching out my fingers to touch his hair but stopped myself .
Why on earth am I trying to touch his hair? It does look soft and it looks like it’s about to curl, he looks so peaceful and better so happy.
I stayed in the same spot for what I could count should be two minutes when my eyes noticed his fingers move and when I turned to look at them
“Watching me sleep?” He whispered, catching me off guard.
“I’m just dropping off your blanket” I answered frantically, getting up and rushing back into my room
I closed the door behind me, my heart racing like crazy, my knees crumpled to the floor.
What’s wrong with you Evelyn?!
I made my way to my bed and forced myself to sleep, tomorrow was the final school day for the week. The perfect time to give it my all and take the rest of the day off.

The next morning came almost immediately and I heard clanking sounds coming from the living room.
Did he wake up to do dishes?
“You’re finally awake” Anya said the moment she noticed my head pop from the corners.
I cleared my throat and walked up to her, her hands in her purse.
“Is he gone?” I mumbled softly for fear that he might still be around to see me in such a disheveled state.
“Yes he is... he left this” she handed me a note
Who on earth writes a note instead of sending a text. Oh yeah, Elroy Vans.
‘Thanks for dinner and the blanket, I’ll see you in class today, prickly princess’ it read. My eyes widened.
“What’d it say?” She asked,
Flustered, I crumpled the paper and sent it into my pocket
“Nothing much, just thanks for the food. I need to hit the showers” I responded, hastily running to the bathroom. I needed to be ready.

I stared at the half empty class
“Where are your classmates?” I asked immediately with a stern expression “Don’t they know it’s one of the last classes before evaluation?” I added.
“I’m sorry miss Reeds” Tiffany said from the door “Everyone is a bit busy” she added, playing with a strand of her hair.
“That isn’t my problem, if you’re here, at least take a seat” I said nonchalantly.
“That’s the thing miss Reeds” she started, I rolled my eyes and turned towards her
“I’m having a party right now and everyone is invited to my mansion” she laid emphasis on her mansion “And it’s a once in a lifetime party because Adrian Hale will be there”
Who on earth does this blonde haired brat think she is
“Adrian Hale” a student mumbled
“Literally the hottest celebrity right now” another added.
“I’m so there” another retorted as they rushed through the door.
I didn’t try to stop them, this was all Dean Albright’s fault for giving her so much freedom.
“Well miss Reeds, you might have to teach an empty class” she smiled, walking off.
I took the intiative to walk towards the hallway they all trooped into, all of them except Elroy who was just coming into class.
“Any one who doesn’t take these last classes will get fifteen percent off their final grade” I said loudly and they paused.
You’re not the only one with a few tricks Tiffany.
