I felt an awful shrill in my spine when I heard I say those words “What did you say?” I asked with an ear bent forward so she could repeat her sentence once again.
“I wanted to suprise you..I’m sorry I didn’t inform you earlier” she said with a melancholic tone. What on earth am I even doing? Trying to scold her, a woman who did everything to make me feel safe and secure.
“Wow..I’m so happy for you. Wait” I paused “You’re the new librarian and professor?” I asked, pointing out the information Ryder had given me just an hour ago.
