CHAPTER NINETEEN- NYX
I was still staring at my phone when a knock sounded against the door.
My heart jumped.
Surely, Zeus wasn’t here.
Before I could even fully process the thought, another knock followed. I slowly stood from the bed and crossed the room to the door, pulling it open.
Zeus was there.
His dark clothes were slightly rumpled, as though he had thrown them on without much thought. His hair looked less carefully arranged than usual, and there was a tension in his shoulders that hadn’t been there the last time I saw him.
He let out a breath that sounded suspiciously like a laugh.
And then, to my complete shock, he stepped forward and pulled me into a brief hug. The action happened so unexpectedly that my entire body went rigid.
