“Before we waste another minute of everyone’s time, I would like to move for a dismissal.”
My voice cut through the Hall of Judgment like a blade.
The three of the judges looked up from their files almost simultaneously. Across the room, Kael Blackwood visibly stiffened.
Good.
At least one thing about today was entertaining.
The courtroom itself was smaller than most people would expect for a case involving two Alpha Kings. There were no spectators. No reporters. No jury.
Just the judges, Kael, and me.
And well…enough tension to choke a wolf.
One of the seven judges, an older man with silver hair and a stern face, adjusted his spectacles and peered down at me like I was a misbehaving pup.
"On what grounds do you seek to dismiss these proceedings, Alpha King Hawthorn??"
