Chapter 5
Bastion-7 Academy
Three hours later…
Elias Veyron sat inside an armored transport vehicle eating instant noodles.
“…Honestly?”
He pointed at the cup thoughtfully.
“This surviving the apocalypse thing becomes significantly easier with noodles.”
Nobody answered him.
Mainly because every soldier inside the vehicle was still secretly terrified of him.
Elias sighed dramatically.
“You people are making this very awkward.”
One soldier immediately straightened his posture.
“S-Sorry, sir!”
“…Why are you apologizing like I’m about to smite you?”
The soldier looked genuinely conflicted.
“You summoned a god.”
“Fair.”
Across from him, Seraphina Vale rubbed her temples again.
She had been doing that frequently ever since meeting Elias.
Probably a stress response.
The transport sped through massive metallic highways suspended between colossal walls surrounding the city.
Elias stared outside with fascination.
The scale was absurd.
Gigantic barriers surrounded Bastion-7 like mechanical mountains.
Countless holographic screens floated above the streets displaying:
threat alerts
gate activity
summoner rankings
emergency broadcasts
And everywhere he looked—
summoners.
Some rode summoned beasts through the sky.
Others trained openly atop floating platforms.
One teenager casually controlled water dragons above a stadium.
Elias pressed against the window slightly.
“…This place is amazing.”
Seraphina looked at him strangely.
“Most first-time arrivals are terrified.”
“I’m a mythologist.”
He pointed toward a flying armored griffin outside.
“You think I’m NOT going to be excited?”
The commander stared at him silently for several seconds.
Then sighed.
“…You really are abnormal.”
“Statistically speaking, yes.”
The vehicle passed enormous gates marked:
BASTION-7 MYTHIC ACADEMY
Elias’s eyes widened immediately.
“Oh no.”
Seraphina blinked.
“What?”
“That sign means I’m getting dragged into education again, isn’t it?”
“…It’s either that or military custody.”
“…Academy it is.”
The transport entered a colossal campus larger than some cities.
Massive towers rose toward the sky.
Training arenas floated in midair.
Ancient statues of legendary summons stood throughout the grounds.
And at the very center—
a gigantic crystalline structure pulsed with spiritual energy.
Elias immediately pointed at it.
“What’s that?”
“The Resonance Spire.”
Seraphina’s expression became more serious.
“It measures spiritual power, mythic compatibility, and potential.”
Elias slowly looked toward her.
“…Potential?”
“Yes.”
She paused briefly.
“Your global notification only revealed your existence.”
“It did not reveal your actual potential rank.”
Elias leaned back thoughtfully.
Interesting.
So the Ten Black Stars remained hidden.
For now.
Probably for the best.
Because judging by the System’s repeated mental breakdowns earlier—
that information was not normal.
At all.
The transport stopped before an enormous administration building.
Students across nearby pathways immediately froze upon seeing Elias exit the vehicle.
Whispers exploded everywhere.
“That’s him—”
“The god summoner?”
“No way he’s actually our age—”
“I heard he soloed a calamity-class threat.”
“He WHAT?”
Elias blinked.
“…Human rumors evolve faster than mythology.”
Seraphina led him inside while guards quietly cleared pathways ahead of them.
The atmosphere felt tense.
Not hostile.
Just intensely curious.
Inside the administration hall stood dozens of instructors and officials already waiting.
And judging by their expressions—
they had been arguing before Elias arrived.
One elderly man with silver hair stepped forward first.
His spiritual pressure dwarfed everyone else in the room.
Yet unlike the soldiers earlier—
his eyes held fascination rather than fear.
“Interesting…”
Magnus Aurelius
The old man smiled slightly.
“So you are Elias Veyron.”
Elias nodded politely.
“And you are?”
“The Headmaster of Bastion-7 Academy.”
The old man observed him carefully.
Then laughed softly.
“You look significantly less terrifying than the reports suggested.”
Elias looked offended.
“I worked very hard on my dramatic entrance.”
Several instructors coughed to hide laughter.
Good start.
Magnus gestured toward the giant crystalline structure visible through nearby windows.
“The Resonance Spire is prepared.”
Elias tilted his head.
“For?”
The entire hall became silent.
The Headmaster smiled.
“To determine exactly what kind of monster you are.”
Elias looked genuinely delighted.
“Oh, this is absolutely going to cause problems.”
