Chapter 6
Resonance Evaluation
The Resonance Hall was enormous.
A circular chamber made entirely of silver-white metal and glowing crystal.
At the center stood the Resonance Spire itself.
A towering translucent structure filled with flowing streams of light.
The moment Elias Veyron entered the chamber—
the Spire flickered.
Once.
Twice.
Then all the surrounding instructors immediately stiffened.
One researcher whispered nervously:
“…Did it just react first?”
That was not supposed to happen.
Normally the Spire remained dormant until direct contact.
Elias noticed everyone staring and immediately pointed at himself.
“In my defense, I also don’t know what’s happening.”
Nobody looked reassured.
Students gathered behind observation barriers high above the chamber.
The entire Academy had apparently decided productivity was optional today.
Whispers spread endlessly.
“That’s the divine summoner?”
“He doesn’t look that special.”
“He summoned a god!”
“Yeah but he also looks like he forgets sleep exists.”
“Fair point.”
Meanwhile, Headmaster Magnus Aurelius stepped beside the Spire calmly.
“The Resonance Evaluation measures three categories.”
Golden symbols illuminated around the chamber.
“Spiritual Power.”
One section of the Spire glowed blue.
“Myth Compatibility.”
Another section glowed gold.
“And Potential.”
The very top of the structure darkened completely.
Elias immediately noticed something strange.
The darkness wasn’t empty.
It looked…
bottomless.
Interesting.
Magnus continued:
“Potential ranks are represented through Stars.”
Elias nodded thoughtfully.
Right.
The ranking system.
White Star.
Blue Star.
Gold Star.
And beyond.
Students watched excitedly from above.
Most people awakened:
one White Star
maybe two if talented
Geniuses reached:
Gold Star
occasionally Purple
Crimson Star users were already national-level monsters.
Anything beyond that was nearly mythical.
Magnus looked toward Elias.
“Place your hand on the Spire.”
Elias walked forward casually.
Then paused.
“…Hypothetically speaking…”
Several instructors suddenly looked nervous.
“If something explodes,” Elias continued, “how much paperwork are we discussing?”
Seraphina immediately answered:
“Too much.”
“Understood.”
Elias placed his hand against the crystal.
For one second—
nothing happened.
Then the world shook.
BOOOOOOOOOOM!
The entire Spire erupted with blinding light.
Students screamed.
Several instructors stumbled backward.
Alarms exploded throughout the Academy.
The blue Spiritual Power section surged upward instantly.
10%.
30%.
60%.
90%.
100%.
Then kept going.
The chamber fell silent.
“…That’s not possible,” one researcher whispered.
The energy continued rising beyond the maximum limit.
CRACK.
The measurement section shattered completely.
Everyone froze.
Elias slowly raised one eyebrow.
“…That feels medically concerning.”
The System suddenly appeared above the Spire.
---
SPIRITUAL POWER LIMIT EXCEEDED
RESTRUCTURING EVALUATION PARAMETERS...
---
The golden Myth Compatibility section ignited next.
Names began appearing rapidly around the chamber.
Thousands of them.
Myths.
Pantheons.
Creatures.
Gods.
Ancient symbols rotated endlessly through the air.
The entire Academy watched in disbelief as the names accelerated faster and faster.
Greek.
Norse.
Hindu.
Egyptian.
Japanese.
African.
Celtic.
Mayan.
Forgotten mythologies nobody recognized.
The System continued struggling to process it.
---
MYTH COMPATIBILITY:
ABNORMAL
CALCULATING...
ERROR
ERROR
---
Then—
the top section activated.
Potential.
The entire room unconsciously held its breath.
For a brief moment…
darkness filled the chamber.
Not evil darkness.
Infinite darkness.
Like staring into a night sky without end.
Then the first Black Star appeared.
Students gasped instantly.
One instructor nearly fainted.
“B-Black Star?!”
A second star appeared.
Then a third.
The pressure in the chamber intensified violently.
Seraphina’s eyes widened.
“No…”
Fourth.
Fifth.
Sixth.
By the seventh star, people could barely breathe.
The Spire itself began cracking.
Eighth.
Ninth.
Reality distorted faintly around the chamber.
And then—
the Tenth Black Star appeared.
Silence.
Absolute silence.
Even the System stopped responding momentarily.
The ten stars rotated slowly above Elias like ancient cosmic entities observing reality itself.
Nobody moved.
Nobody spoke.
One student quietly passed out.
Honestly understandable.
Then—
the Spire shattered completely.
BOOOOOOOOOOOM!
The chamber exploded with spiritual energy.
Cracks spread across the walls.
Protective barriers activated instantly.
And the System finally screamed across every screen in the Academy.
---
UNKNOWN POTENTIAL DETECTED
DESIGNATION:
TEN BLACK STARS
WARNING
WARNING
SOVEREIGN-CLASS POSSIBILITY CONFIRMED
---
The entire Academy froze.
Because everyone understood one thing.
The System only used the word:
Sovereign
for beings beyond humanity itself.
Elias stared upward at the rotating Black Stars quietly.
For the first time since arriving in this world…
his cheerful expression faded completely.
Not from fear.
But because deep inside those stars—
he saw something looking back at him.
Then suddenly—
a new voice echoed inside his mind alone.
Ancient.
Distant.
Impossible to identify.
> “The path has reopened.”
Elias’s pupils shrank slightly.
The chamber lights flickered violently.
And somewhere beyond reality—
something awakened.
