Chapter 2: The One Who Answered Thunder

Chapter 2 The One Who Answered Thunder The air became heavy. Not oppressive. Reverent. As though the world itself recognized something ancient approaching. Lightning spread across the clouds in massive branching patterns. Blue. Gold. White. The draconic creatures froze mid-charge. Even the giant serpent in the sky stopped moving for a fraction of a second. Every summoner in Bastion-7 instinctively looked upward. Their souls trembled. “What…?” A veteran summoner atop a nearby tower suddenly widened his eyes. “No.” His voice shook. “That pressure…” Back on the ruined street, Elias Veyron stared at the floating names before him. Thousands. Millions. An endless sea of mythology. Yet one name burned brighter than the others. Not because the System recommended it. But because something beyond the System responded to him. Elias exhaled softly. Then spoke. “I invoke the sovereign of storms…” Ancient runes ignited around him. The ground cracked. Thunder exploded across the heavens. “The protector of Midgard…” The draconic creatures whimpered instinctively. “The wielder of Mjölnir…” A colossal lightning pillar descended from the sky. The city shook violently. Windows shattered for kilometers. People screamed. And Elias smiled brightly like an excited child finally meeting a historical legend. “Answer me, Thor.” BOOOOOOOOOOM! The heavens split apart. A gigantic storm vortex formed above Bastion-7. Lightning became visible across the entire skyline. Then— a figure stepped out from the storm. Massive. Radiant. Wrapped in flowing crimson cloth and divine armor covered in ancient runes. Golden hair moved like living lightning. Blue eyes glowed brighter than the storm itself. And in his hand rested a hammer overflowing with enough power to distort the atmosphere. Silence consumed the battlefield. Even the giant serpent in the sky trembled. Not from fear alone. But instinctive recognition. A predator acknowledging something infinitely above it. The System glitched violently. --- WARNING WARNING DIVINE MANIFESTATION EXCEEDS EXPECTED PARAMETERS ATTEMPTING RECLASSIFICATION... ERROR ERROR --- People across the city stared upward in disbelief. One summoner whispered: “…That’s not possible.” Another fell to his knees. “That pressure… that isn’t a projection…” Meanwhile, Elias looked absolutely delighted. “OH.” His eyes sparkled. “You actually look like the pre-Christian interpretations!” The divine figure slowly turned toward him. For a terrifying moment— the storm itself seemed alive. Then the god spoke. His voice echoed like rolling thunder. > “You know my name well, mortal.” Elias grinned. “Well, yeah.” He pointed upward casually. “You’re arguably one of the most misinterpreted deities in modern mythology.” Silence. A nearby soldier stared at Elias like he had lost his mind. Brother. Why are you talking to a god like an old classmate? Then— unexpectedly— Thor laughed. A deep booming laugh that shook the sky. Lightning flashed joyfully around the clouds. > “HAHAHAHA!” > “Interesting!” The pressure lightened slightly. Thor looked around the battlefield before his gaze landed on the giant serpent. The creature immediately recoiled. Smart decision. The thunder god raised Mjölnir slightly. > “A lesser draconic beast dares threaten this realm?” The serpent roared defensively. Elias crossed his arms thoughtfully. “Technically speaking, it resembles a hybridized feathered serpent archetype with corrupted draconic adaptation.” Thor blinked once. Then looked at Elias again. > “…You speak strangely.” “Occupational hazard.” The giant serpent unleashed blue flames toward the city. Thor casually swung his hammer. CRACK. The flames vanished instantly. Not blocked. ERASED. The clouds exploded with divine lightning. Every electronic device in Bastion-7 malfunctioned simultaneously. Then Thor moved. The world blurred. BOOOOOOM! The sky detonated. Thor appeared directly before the giant serpent and punched it once. Just once. The creature crashed through three floating buildings before slamming into the distant wall protecting the Bastion. Complete silence followed. Elias winced. “…Right.” He looked toward the terrified draconic creatures still near him. “Reminder to self.” He pointed upward. “Never fistfight mythology.” The smaller monsters immediately fled. Excellent survival instincts. The little girl behind Elias stared upward with shining eyes. “Mister…” Elias glanced back. “Yeah?” “Are you a god too?” Elias looked genuinely horrified. “Oh absolutely not.” He pointed toward Thor. “That’s the professional.” Thor descended slowly from the sky. Every step generated faint thunder. Nearby soldiers instinctively backed away. Nobody dared approach. Thor stopped before Elias. For several seconds, the god simply observed him. Then— > “Your soul carries strange echoes.” Elias’s smile faded slightly. “The ruins…” Thor’s eyes narrowed. Interesting. He recognized the term. Before Elias could ask further— the System suddenly erupted with alerts. --- GLOBAL NOTIFICATION FIRST DIVINE-CLASS MANIFESTATION DETECTED INDIVIDUAL: ELIAS VEYRON THREAT ASSESSMENT: UNKNOWN POTENTIAL CLASSIFICATION: ERROR ERROR ERROR --- The entire world saw it. Every screen. Every Bastion. Every summoner. One name echoed across humanity for the very first time. ELIAS VEYRON.
