Chapter 1
The World Beyond Myth
Cold air struck his face first.
Then pain.
A LOT of pain.
“…ugh.”
Elias Veyron groaned as he pushed himself upright from cracked concrete.
His entire body felt like he had been thrown through a mountain.
Which, considering recent events, honestly felt possible.
Snow was gone.
The ruins were gone.
The researchers were gone.
Instead—
towering metallic skyscrapers stretched into the sky.
Except half of them were destroyed.
Some buildings floated impossibly in the air, connected by glowing bridges of blue light.
Massive holographic symbols rotated above the city skyline.
And far in the distance…
something enormous moved between the clouds.
Elias blinked slowly.
“…Okay.”
He looked around calmly.
“Either I died…”
A deafening roar shook the heavens.
Clouds split apart.
A gigantic serpent-like creature burst through the sky above the city.
Its body was covered in crimson scales larger than cars.
Wings blotted out the sun.
People screamed below.
Missiles launched from nearby towers.
The creature ignored them completely.
Elias stared upward silently.
Then his eyes widened with genuine excitement.
“No way.”
The serpent opened its mouth.
Blue fire gathered within it.
Elias pointed upward like a child discovering dinosaurs.
“That’s a Quetzalcoatl-type draconic structure!”
BOOOOOOM!
The creature unleashed flames across the sky.
Explosions erupted across nearby districts.
Sirens screamed everywhere.
Armored soldiers rushed through the streets.
Some wielded glowing weapons.
Others summoned floating magic circles.
One man shouted:
“Raiders to Sector Nine immediately!”
Another slammed a glowing card against his arm.
A giant armored wolf materialized beside him.
Elias stared.
“…Summoning?”
The wolf leaped into the air toward the serpent.
The serpent swatted it away instantly.
The soldier screamed.
“Well,” Elias muttered, “that looked expensive.”
Suddenly—
transparent golden text appeared before his eyes.
---
WELCOME, PARTICIPANT.
WORLD:
EIDOLON EARTH
STATUS:
ACTIVE SURVIVAL WORLD
CURRENT THREAT LEVEL:

---
Elias blinked.
“…Huh.”
The text continued.
---
ANALYZING INDIVIDUAL...
ERROR
ERROR
ERROR
UNREGISTERED POTENTIAL DETECTED
TEN BLACK STARS CONFIRMED
REINITIALIZING SYSTEM STRUCTURE...
---
Around him—
people suddenly froze.
Not physically.
But spiritually.
As though the world itself had paused.
Even the giant serpent in the sky momentarily stopped moving.
Then the System spoke again.
---
UNIQUE DESIGNATION GRANTED
SOVEREIGN CANDIDATE:
ELIAS VEYRON
INITIALIZING MYTH ARCHIVE...
---
Information exploded into Elias’s mind.
Names.
Legends.
Stories.
Gods.
Runes.
Forgotten myths.
Outer entities.
Ancient civilizations.
Infinite knowledge flooded through him.
His head pounded violently.
“AH—”
Elias nearly collapsed before catching himself against a ruined wall.
“…Okay…”
Deep breath.
“…that’s new.”
Then the world resumed.
The serpent roared again.
Explosions continued.
People screamed.
And Elias realized something very important.
He had absolutely no idea where he was.
Or how any of this worked.
A holographic billboard flickered nearby through smoke and fire.
---
EMERGENCY ALERT
BASTION-7 UNDER ATTACK
ALL REGISTERED SUMMONERS REPORT IMMEDIATELY
---
Elias rubbed his forehead.
“Right.”
He looked toward the burning city.
Then toward the giant dragon-serpent fighting summoned beasts in the sky.
Then back at the System screen.
“…I got isekai’d into mythological Pacific Rim.”
Another explosion rocked the streets.
Elias grinned despite himself.
“…This might actually be amazing.”
A scream suddenly echoed nearby.
Elias turned.
A little girl stood trapped beneath fallen debris while smaller draconic creatures crawled toward her.
The nearest soldiers were too far away.
The creatures lunged.
Elias moved instantly.
Not because he was heroic.
But because watching people get eaten five minutes after reincarnation felt like a terrible start to his day.
He grabbed a metal pipe from the ground and stepped between the monsters and the child.
Three creatures.
Sharp claws.
Burning red eyes.
Definitely not friendly.
The largest one snarled.
Elias stared at it.
“…You know, scientifically speaking, your proportions are extremely inefficient.”
The creature tilted its head.
“And your wings are too small for sustained flight. Evolution would be ashamed.”
The monster roared angrily.
“Yep. Definitely understood that personally.”
The creatures charged.
Elias tightened his grip on the pipe.
Then—
something inside him responded.
The Myth Archive pulsed.
Ancient runes illuminated beneath his feet.
The air changed.
The sky darkened.
Lightning crackled across the clouds.
Every instinct in Elias screamed one thing:
Invoke.
Golden text exploded before him.
---
FIRST MYTHIC INVOCATION AVAILABLE
SELECT DESIGNATION
---
Names appeared endlessly before his eyes.
Gods.
Heroes.
Monsters.
Kings.
Primordials.
Infinite myths.
Elias inhaled slowly.
Then smiled.
“…Well.”
Thunder roared across the heavens.
“If we’re starting…”
Lightning erupted around him violently.
“…might as well start properly.”
The city trembled.
And somewhere far above the clouds—
something answered.
