Sounds of victory echoed throughout the world and the people rejoiced. Chiming bells clanged against each other and the men and women alike hugged and cried. Victory roared defiantly for the demon king had finally been slaughtered.
The demon king, the most abhorrent being to step foot into this world, had finally been slain. Deep in his lair, in his den of evils the heroes stood brandishing their weapons full of demon blood. But among the heroes that challenged the demon king there was one. One who excelled in every aspect, one who had the trust of everyone, one who had been prophesized to be the chosen. The hero amongst heroes.
And he did as he was to do. He had braved the demon king's kingdom, led his friends and allies into battle against the evil forces, killed every demon he laid eyes upon and now finally he was at the end of his journey.
His hands gripped strongly onto the hilt of the sword as it plunged into the demon king's body. His face one of anger and righteousness as the tip of the sword penetrated his adversary's heart. His stance unmoving as he ended the corruption of this world.
The stout hero, grabbing the king, made the final push plunging the sword deep into his chest seemingly ensuring his demise. His just-hand twisted the hilt and he felt no shame in getting joy out of the king's painful gasp. It was over, it was finally over. And he had triumphed.
The demon king gasped, blood gushing from his wounds, his feet unable to support his weight anymore as he stumbled forward onto the hero's robust body. His blood filled mouth rested on the hero's shoulder as his life was wretched out of him. Everything he had done had finally caught up to him. Every wrong, every maliciousness now stinging his body full of pain. He was getting what he deserved.
But still one thought lingered as it always did. His life flashing before his eyes he could not help but think, to wonder as his eyes slowly came to a close and his lips uttered into the hero's ear.
"That day if our roles were reversed, would our fates be any different?"
