CLASSES BEGAN FOR both of us January 2nd, and Kevin and I knuckled down to cope with very full schedules. We were both carrying full academic loads and working as many hours as we could without causing our grades to suffer. We’d asked George and Mike how they handled their finances, and following their advice, we’d opened joint checking and savings accounts at a credit union, and we combined both of our cell phones into one plan.
Neither of us had mentioned legal matters, although I’d been thinking about some obvious problems we might have, and I knew Kevin well enough to make an educated guess as to his thoughts on the subject. One Friday evening in late January, I was planning to bring up the subject over dinner, but Kevin beat me to it.
