‘PATIENT DISCOMFORT’

214 Words
I awaken from my sleep in my hospital bed. The experience I am exposed to leaves me a bit upset and stressed out. A patient brought in screams out of pain. The worst thing is her bed is just next to mine. I understand, she’s sick and in pain, but again, how do I cope with this? I am ailing too and really stressed out. I stay up the whole night. At this point, I don’t know if it’s human or inhuman to complain. Should I consider her needs or mine? What’s the right thing to do? The question is what’s the role of the medics in this? All patients deserve a conducive environment to heal. There should be a proper assessment of the patient’s condition to ensure all patients are taken care of. If the patient is not in the right state of mind, she/he should be taken to the ideal ward for the same. The management should be in a position to ensure everyone is happy and satisfied with the service. The key point is healing. Everyone deserves healing. On this day, I urge all medical centers to consider the comfort of all the patients. Every patient deserves a conducive and non-stressful environment to boost the healing process.
