‘FREEDOM’

407 Words
I glance outside the hospital ward window. The first thing I see, birds flying freely in the sky. Guess what is in my mind! ``Freedom’’. In this room, I can only visit the washroom, make a few steps to the reception, sleep, take meds and exchange a few words with other patients and medics, but I can’t go beyond the reception area. Which means I am under hospital care. I do and respond to what they say. That is a description of a mind seeking freedom. We do not realize we have freedom until we lose it. A few weeks ago, I was walking on the road, chatting with friends one on one, basking in the sun, doing things on my own, but to me, I saw it as just normal and basically a right. The sun is just the sun, walking from point A to B is just walking. Wait until I got to this room. I realized walking is not just walking, feeling the warmth of the sun is not just normal. It’s God’s favour, a privilege that we take for granted until it’s taken away from us. So on this day, if you are free from the hospital ward, walking out there healthy, feeling the warmth of the sun, not asking for permission to do this or that, just know, you are blessed by God’s favour. It means you are a free bird. Don’t forget to show gratitude for that. Every morning when you wake up in your bed, say thank you to God, I am a healthy being. Some of us wake up in a hospital bed, but we still say thank you for this precious life. So the challenge is here, the choice is yours. How do you passive life? How positively do you view every situation in your life? Don’t focus on the wrong things going on in your life; you don’t know how many people wish to wear your shoes. The point is no one is perfect, no life is perfect; we choose to relive our lives, show gratitude for what we have. Don’t wait until these small things are snatched away from you to see their value. Live each day as it presents itself. Choose to be happy and create moments to remember. As they say, we choose to be happy. Don’t wait for the situation to change to be happy. Grab your freedom now.
